The five guest cabins are cozy, private and have wonderful views of the mountains. It is a family-owned business and David (son) and Bernard (father) were welcoming hosts as well as our chefs. Their food is made to order and absolutely delicious! The property has its own hiking trails with a river and two lovely waterfalls. The property is a bit above the village of San Gerado de Dota and we did drive down into the village one day, where most of the other accomodation is - we found we much prefered the location of Las Cataratas Lodge as it is high on the mountain instead of down in the valley so it has much better views.

We saw the quetzal bird (the main reason why we stayed here) on an early morning tour which was a nice experience.
