Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Villa du Vieux Château features accommodation with pool with a view and free WiFi. It is situated 36 km from Le CADRAN and offers bicycle parking. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. This is a very unusual location at first sight, the road is busy and relatively unassuming in looks, however we stayed in a top of this large house apartment with its' own terrace with views above of the old chateau and opposite direction to the river Seine, we caught this on a spring day sunset and it was lovely. The attention to design detail and the quality of fixtures and fittings is clearly evident and much appreciated. Our lady host was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and served in a charming room in the main house, all in all a little gem and if in the area will certainly look forward to returning . The only caveat (unless we somehow missed it) was there was no air conditioning, which was a great surprise considering the overall quality of this apartment and as a loft room would be very warm in the summer months!

Parking was easy, Access to apartment was a little complicated but we just followed all the instructions provided and everything worked. Inside was lovely warm and clean. Enough cooking facilities to fix a simple meal. Microwave good but a little high, a step stool would be a good idea. Very glad of the decent fridge freezer (one of the reasons we choose this place) as we were travelling with a cool box, and our blocks needed refreezing. The bathroom was good, lovely shower, but the basin is a bit too high, understandable as it is above the washing machine, again just needed a stool! Internet was very good. Bed was comfortable but access a bit tight. This place is very nice and would stay again, but best suited to tall thin people 😂

Great location- only a short walk to train station and Navette to Giverny. House was easy to find. The interior is beautiful, a typical French residence. Really loved the big windows, shutters and high ceilings. Beds were very comfortable and the double was a generous size. We stayed in the Garden Room which has its own little seating area. The garden is gorgeous and great place to relax when the weather is good. Tasty continental breakfast. Anne was very welcoming and we loved the cute cats and chickens. Facilities in room to make tea. Nothing at all to dislike maybe except the shower pressure was not the highest but perfectly adequate. Recommend bringing your own shampoo.
