Staff are friendly and helpful - and should you need help with planning amazing local guidance for tours/visits to funeral ceremonies and grave sites etc. with excellent knowledge, then ask for Rashid who can help you plan both guides and driver. We went out with Yohannes (guide) and Mingu (driver) and we had such a lovely few days with them; they went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we wanted and more and were so knowledgeable in sharing information about the local traditions and culture. Highly educational and lovely!

Everything was clean and the view from the terrace was amazing. Make sure to catch at least one sunset from there. Also Riko and Vanda were amazing and caring hosts. We would definitelly come back!

A good location for a relaxing holiday in Rantepao, Mama Tia Family Homestay is a homestay surrounded by views of the mountain. The homestay features family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. This was one of the best places I’ve stayed in in my travels, hands down. It is basic, but proof that basic can also be excellent. Jacob & Yansen were fabulous hosts-cum-guides, the food choices were simple but tasty, & the whole atmosphere of the place, including my fellow-guests were wonderfully friendly. So glad I chose this over some place inRantepao proper where I would have felt in the middle of a city. Here we were in the real spirit of Tana Toraja, w Tongan’s a stone’s throw away.

They help us to arrange the tour trips and guides according to our interest. They provide 3 meals per day and also very flexible to adjust time and food for our convenience. They even prepare breakfast and sent to our room when we went out for trip very early in the morning. The garden is lovely and the environment is very friendly. My mum and me had very happy 3 days stay in Tangkoko Sanctuary Villa.
