Onyado Nono Matsumoto Natural Hot Spring provides rooms in Matsumoto near Matsumoto Station and Matsumoto Castle. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a shared lounge and a 24-hour front desk, along with free WiFi. Private parking is available on site. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and exceeded my expectations. It's a short walk from the train station (though it does mean it's a bit of a walk to the castle) and the whole place has a really relaxed and charming vibe. Value for money was great, and there are many things to like. Staff is friendly and I really liked the design and setup of the rooms. Then there is the nicely set up onsen on the top floor with an indoor and outdoor bath, as well as a sauna and cold plunge bath. On top of that, there is free ice cream, free yakult in the morning, free ramen in the evening (after 9:30 pm) and free drinks from 3 pm to midnight. Design of the place is very Japanese (shoes in locker at entry) and with all the perks included, we really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of restaurants at walking distance as well. Would return if in Matsumoto again.

It can be reserved for free, you just have to pay the small onsen tax.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. After completing the check-in process, they personally escorted us to the villa and explained how to use the in-room facilities. What I loved most was that each villa comes with its own private rooftop terrace, where you can comfortably enjoy meals while admiring the stunning view of Mount Fuji. Dinner options are available here at a reasonable price, and you can even enjoy the meal in your room. The villa also has basic kitchenware, so preparing a simple meal yourself is definitely possible.
