They have a lovely big kitchen and dining area for guests to cook and hangout. Located right across the road from a great surfing beach with bikes for free and surfboard & wetsuit rentals. Lots of things in biking distance if you don't have a car and we took a train nearby that took us to the airport when leaving. Emi and Sok also offer surfing lessons and surf-skate lessons which we didn't sign up for but heard good things about from other guests. Super clean and wifi was good (my partner had to do a video meeting while there). The suggestions from our hosts on which breaks to go to so we could get some great surfs in were also really appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay that capped off our awesome time in Kyushu!!

At the guest house, all units are fitted with bed linen and towels. Accomodation was a beautiful log cabin in the Miyazaki countryside! The facilities were clean and modern, and the bed was so comfortable!! There were so many thoughtful touches, like having spare pairs of crocs outside the cabin, having salt and cooking oil in the kitchen, having tea and coffee sachets. You can also park directly in front of your cabin which is very convenient. We reserved the course dinner offered by the host and it was delicious!! The host was also the chef (and the bartender) and we had a great time chatting to him in English and Japanese about the locally sourced ingredients and his very well-stocked bar. Thanks for such a lovely night Keita!! Next time we will need to stay even longer, so we can use the fireplace and enjoy more of the peaceful countryside. We had a wonderful stay, highly recommend El Campo.

It is set 42 km from Saitobaru Tomb and offers a shared kitchen. The owners were incredibly lovely, they welcomed us quite late but we still had time to order dinner, which was delicious. We had the singapore-style chicken and it was amazing. The hospitality made us feel like long-lost friends - it was really incredible. We had breakfast there in the morning and they even made the bread themselves, it was soft and fluffy but toasted to perfection. After that, we felt more than ready for a long day of exploring the coast. I would definitely recommend staying here. However, as indicated in the booking, showers are shared. It is also slightly noisy with a large road nearby and some train tracks. Bring earplugs :) 100% would stay here again.

The location/setting, the staff/service, the rooms with private onsen and the food. First of all Takachiho gorge is beautiful but this takes the experience to another level with the level of service and F&B provided. Its a pity we only stayed 1 day.
