I didn't expect it to be so but it was the BEST place I stayed during my 3 month trip to Japan. The house itself is really beautiful, clean, and very close to the train station. It's very easy to get to all the Nara sightseeing spots. I cannot recommend this amazing place enough. If you hesitate - don't, you have found the best place to stay at around Nara:)

The property is around 9.1 km from Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium, 12 km from Nippon Christ Kyodan Shijonawate Church and 12 km from Shijonawate City Museum of History and Folklore. The ryokan has family rooms. The ryokan was by far one of the high points of our trip. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, explaining everything in nearly perfect english. The ryokan also has a private bath that I was able to experience with my wife. The location is beautiful and calm, and I recommend waking up early and climbing the stairs to temple.
