It is not gated, but it's a nice a quiet neighborhood so at no point was I concerned for our motorcycles. They didn't charge us for doing laundry. Everything you need - be it restaurants, grocery stores or maybe even a gym - is within easy walking distance.

It has an interesting architecture, Entering the hotel you immediately feel the charm of the reception hall. The rooms are wonderful, in a particular old wooden style, some of the rooms in the fish's floor have large windows with amazing views on the historical center. The staff is extremely friendly and the support in any respect is really great. The food is very tasty, Mexican style, and the breakfast is served directly on the table, avoiding these nameless buffets. I really hope that this place will stay as it is, since it cannot be better!

We found several great museums and eateries within walking distance and the weekend we were there there was an antique car show around the corner with American muscle cars, classic trucks and race cars from the Panamerican tour. The interior of the hotel is filled with antiques and artwork. There is a friendly dog on the premise that loved to cuddle on the sofa and that my dog was smitten with. We had a king bed and a jacuzzi tub in our room which was unique. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. In fact, the locals were all so friendly and welcoming. The went out of their way to chat with us. The Central Market was walking distance as well and we enjoyed seeing all the interesting foods and crafts. Of course, there were scorpions everywhere… not loose but it is a major theme in Durango.

We had a window that opened (something important for me) that looked out to a beautiful garden with flowers and green grass. The bathroom had lots of counter space and a shower with plenty of hot water. Fluffy towels changed everyday. Spotlessly clean hotel. Staff were amazing and efficient. The outdoor pool is heated and was wonderfully relaxing. Plenty of parking. Note that the entrance is on Blvd. Francisco Villa, not where google maps shows it to be.
