Conveniently located in downtown Cancun Bed and Breakfast Pecari is 15-20 minutes walk from the ADO station, 20 minutes drive from the airport and 5 minutes drive from the entrance to the hotel zone and beach. The owner sent extensive information beforehand and was incredibly welcoming. We had a medical emergency the day we arrived and Sandra showed caring, kindness and compassion above and beyond. Additionally, the breakfast and coffee were excellent!

The accommodations at Villas Ecotucan have 12 V electricity provided by solar panels. The bathrooms are private and come with a shower. This was my 3rd visit here - this shows how lovely the place is. Unspoilt natural beauty, both in the jungle and right on the lake. They have their own little deck right on the lagoon. Free kayaks to borrow or you can go on a guided tour. I recommend the jungle walk with Jacqueline - a tranquil way to start the day. The food from the restaurant was exceptional - not a huge menu which is great as everything is freshly prepared.The rooms / cabins are tastefully simple. This is my favourite place to stay in Mexico - in fact probably the whole world!!

Set in Bacalar, Playa Laguna Bacalar Beach Front features a garden, private beach area, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available and the hotel also offers car hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. We had an amazing two night stay! The beach in front of the property is gorgeous. There are hammocks in the water, swings, kayaks, paddle boards, and chairs in front of the water. The rooms are amazing and so comfortable with Netflix, air con, mini fridge, shower with hot water, etc. One of the best parts is being able to use the scooters to go all over town which is included. The property is out of the town but by having the scooters, it makes it easy to go into town. The property is super clean and the workers are very nice. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning and includes a sandwich, fruit, and pastry. It's basic but good. You get one coffee pod to make in your room per day which is good. If you want you can purchase more. Each day they also restock your mini fridge with two beers, two waters and two sodas. They also clean your room daily and the property is kept very clean. This was definitely a splurge for us but if you use all of the amenities it can be worth it.

Facing the beachfront, Hotel Solana Bacalar Lakefront offers 4-star accommodation in Bacalar and features a garden, private beach area and terrace. With a restaurant, the property also has a bar, as well as water sports facilities. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi throughout the property. It was so close to the water, you could go for a swim any time in shallow, clear water. There is only 10 rooms, so it’s never crowded. The staff were amazing - so friendly, helpful and kind. Jess the manager was so attentive and spoke great English, and the receptionists were very helpful. The restaurant food is absolutely delicious, the chef is very talented.

Very surprised about the accommodation, great room, great location, all the staff were very friendly and helpfully. We extended one night because we loved playa del Carmen but also because we loved this place.
