United StatesFirst, Nisha, the manager is a gem. Second, what could be bad about sitting by a jungle river and relaxing. But I love out of the way and rustic. Some won't. But think of this. I woke in the morning to hundreds of snowy egrets looping over the river. An occasional tarpon surfaced and a croc swam by. Ah...!

If you are doing a Lamanai river boat tour they will come and pick you up from the hotel jetty on the lake. The Deck, although a separate restaurant (you could not bill back to your room) it was right next door and offered excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you, Ricky! Excellent location - close to the bus station, good cafes (try Maria's Bakeshop - fantastic chai, frappuccinos, huge quesadillas, and Maria is the nicest person :) ), supermarkets, the river.
