Staying 8Rooms was a very last minute decision--as it ended up being too late to drive. The manager was very easy to contact, late on a Friday night. The rooms are beautifully renovated in a great location. Quite, very central--easy to park nearby, easy to walk to. The rooms are very clean and very well equipped.

The breakfast was quite sufficient for my (limited) needs; the coffee was better than in many more expensive hotels. The location is the best in Waldsassen, opposite the main tourist sight, the Basilica. The public areas -- the dining room and the shaded patio-- have an old-world atmosphere, and a sense that they form part of the life of the town, not just of the guests. Although Waldsassen is admittedly somewhat of the beaten track, the price was very reasonable. Having told the staff, as an 80-year-old, that I'd need help taking my suitcase up the stairs, that was readily provided. The hostess went out of her way to help me with my difficulties with local transport. (If you don't have a car, it's wise to book taxis in advance, for instance to visit the wonderful circular pilgrimage church, the Kappl.)

I have become a regular here, I just enjoy staying here so much! This place is family-owned and they know how to make their guests happy. Rooms are spacious, suitably equipped, well maintained and clean. Beds are comfortable, the mattress feels just right. Breakfast is a buffet of typical German specialities. Staff is kind and welcoming, and are happy to fulfil reasonable special requests. The restaurant is worth special mention. Tasty, plentiful Bavarian dishes are served for dinner accompanied by good local beer. There are always many locals also visiting, which tells something. Coming on Thursday I couldn't have missed pork knuckle, a Thursday special. And I couldn't resist coming here again just for dinner while on an excursion from Prague to Bavaria! New generation has been gradually taking over management and they have kept the atmosphere of the place, very important!

Located in a quiet area the property offered a pleasant stay. The suite was spotlessly clean, it had comfy bed, really cozy rooms and perfect bathroom. I especially enjoyed the breakfast. The staff was always friendly and focused on my needs. I would definitely come back in near future.
