The host was amazing and very friendly, the place was super clean with all necessary amenities. The breakfast was also very good. The owner also offered us a free ride to the Abu Simbel temple though it's just 15 mins walking distance.

We had a perfect 1 night stay at Wawat. Assem (the owner) welcomed us with open arms and he arranged everything for us, from getting tickets to the lightshow to falafel for breakfast. He was helped by his nephew who drove us around last night. They are a great team together! Assem speaks English perfectly btw, communication with him has always been great, from when we made the booking until we left. The guest house is brand new and you can tell: it's squeaky clean, the beds and bedding are in perfect state and the much needed aircon cooled us down within minutes. There's also a communal area with couches and a table with chairs. This makes it feel very homey. Definitely the best guest house we stayed at during our Egypt trip so far. I highly recommend staying here, not only for the help you'll receive but also for the very comfortable rooms and the Nubian hospitality and warmth. Thank you so much, Assem and family 🫶

Karma Kono is one of the nicest and welcoming b&b’s we ever visited. This beautifully decorated and very clean place soothes the mind and body after the long journey to get to Abu Simbel. Yahya is the perfect host, he really understands how to make his guests feel comfortable and at home: homemade lemonade upon arrival, cold water in the fridge, crispy white sheets, lovely Nubian music, delicious breakfast. He is very helpful and knowledgeable about the temple. We wholeheartedly recommend Karma Kono.

Sama Stars Hotel seems to be a reasonably new hotel and the owner/manager, Weal, put a lot of energy into making my stay enjoyable from start to finish. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is excellent value for money. The breakfast was more than I could eat and the dinners (extra cost) were very good also. The rooms are clean and tidy but most important for me, the beds was very comfortable (not hard) and the pillows and bed linen are good quality. The shower provides plenty of hot water for my longer than average showers. People who know how noisy Cairo is, will be surprised by how quiet it is around Sama Stars. The 3 night stay gave me time to visit the Abu Simbel Temples, both during the day and in the evening for the Sound an Light Show. At my request, the hotel arranged a 4x4 trip to to see the 3 Amada site temples and the 3 Wadi Sabua temples. Sometimes you have a special moment on holiday that you cherish forever. For me, the Amada-Wadi Sabua trip is one of those. I am very grateful to Weal for organising it.

Amazing and helpful staff! Both in the hotel and the attached restaurant, some amazing people. They have carefully created a wonderfully restful space with attention to detail and all the little touches that make it amazing. Clean and comfortable, and the location is amazing - straight down the road from Abu Simbel temple.

Great apartment with nice views over the lake. Perfect location (downtown, only 15min walking distance from the temple) and very comfortable. The host Yassed is a wonderful person, he accompanied us to get food from the market and allowed to cook it in his family kitchen. Brekafast is delicious as well. Super recommended!
