This review is for ‘room 1, bridal suite, red room’. The room is bigger then my apartment. I thought I was a lady in an episode of Brighton. The bed was huge, the must need at least 2 people to make the bed. The manor house is set in beautiful forest on top of hill with beautiful views. An golden eagle landed in front of my car while I was driving up to the house. They are definitely underselling this and the photos don’t do it justice. You enter into your own hallway, to the left is the enormous red bedroom with period features and furniture. Down the hall to the right your sitting room. In the middle right the main entrance is the bathroom. The toilet has the best view 😂. Staff is super nice and helpful. Beef stew at diner was delicious, set next to a local neighbor that eats there every Friday night. I especially loved the music the young staff had on, it felt cosy.

Coming back to Woodend this Christmas was like coming home for the holidays. For one thing, Dawn remembered how much we loved a roaring fire in the fireplace that she made sure we had enough wood to get one going when we got there. The familiarity of the place made it a cosy Christmas. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a dishwasher, an oven, a microwave and a washing machine. Detergent for all was also 8provided Located just outside town, Woodend is easily accessible by car to the town and all the surrounding areas. Short of a white Christmas, the stay was exceptionally comfortable. If this place is so cosy in winter, we can't imagine how wonderful a summer stay would be like. The sheep in the nearby farms come practically right up to the boundary and sunrises have been gorgeous on this visit.

Location is fantastic, hosts very friendly but also gave us privacy, hut was lovely and warm in the cold weather! Cosy bed and shower better than expected. We’d have made more use of the outdoor area if we hadn’t been busy visiting family during our stay. So peaceful and our little dog loved it.

    Extremely friendly and polite staff. A very dog friendly hotel, with treats, dog bowls, and blanket provided in our room. The location next to the river and the grounds are lovely. The restaurant, lounge and bar areas are well furnished and give a lovely rustic feel. The evening meal we had was superb as was the breakfast. A really lovely hotel.

    Excellent location - perfect mix of quiet location but within good distance of town, shops, transport links, forest and coastal walks. The cottage has absolutely everything you would need and is extremely dog friendly with an enclosed garden. Really good sized property. All in we had a wonderful, relaxing stay.
