The most dog friendly accommodation we have stayed in owners are dog owners themselves and are really in tune as to what guests with dogs want They allow the dogs to be like thay are at home so if they go on the sofas or bed which is a big one by the way then that's fine They provide throws to go on the bed Garden is dogs friendly as well and secure Kitchen is well equipped and good parking area If your looking in this area this is the place for you

On arrival we were met by a friendly, pleasant and helpful lady named Bev. The decor was fabulous and looked beautiful and was very clean. After a chat we were advised to book a taxi with a return journey to and from the venue we were attending 6 or so miles away. We were given a local taxi number to phone and then shown to our room. A nice start to a lovely stay at The Forest Lodge. The next morning after a good nights sleep in a comfy bed in a quiet room, we went for breakfast and were shown to our table by another friendly member of staff. The breakfast was a good choice of items from cereal and toast to yogurts and pastries with juices as well as tea and coffee. We chose The Lodge Grill from the menu it was well cooked, presented and was good quality ingredients and was really appreciated. On our check out we had another chat with Bev, she asked if we'd had a good night at the venue and if we'd had a good stay at The Forest Lodge, we both agreed we'd had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying here and said if we were coming to the venue again that we would book The Forest Lodge immediately. Great stay, great quality and super staff. Thank you.

We stayed here for two nights and loved it. Our host Jacqueline’s hospitality and genuine warmth made us feel at home every minute. We enjoyed great breakfast and lovely dinner - no need to eat anything in between… Our rooms were spotlessly clean, everything worked properly and it was really quiet at nights. We woke to the smell of bacon and coffee from the kitchen. Sherwood Forest was about 3 miles away. So, all in all it was perfect for us and we will definitely stay here again.

Everything we could possibly need for a relaxing few days away. Super comfortable bed and a fantastic sun trap so you can top up the tan. The hosts Paul and Sarah couldn’t do enough for us and made us and our dog feel so welcome. Some lovely pubs within a few minutes drive and countryside walks on the doorstep. Would recommend to anyone.

Welcome pack was a lovely touch, beds were so comfy and it was clean. Nice DVD library but couldn’t find normal TV channels…made do with Netflix and iPlayer so all good. Will definitely visit again if we are up that way. Dog also loved it!

    The house was a good size. Very clean, warm and comfortable. Allocated parking space. Lots of extra bits and pieces left out which made the first night after traveling much less stressful. Location excellent for walking and biking at nearby places. Dog friendly. Very detailed information from owners making check in very simple and easy.
