Spotless clean. Hosts are super nice and always available. They make you whatever you choose from a provided list for breakfast (cooked, delicious). Very attentive to details - small milk in the fridge, tea coffee and cookies, ladies' toiletries in the bathroom. I would definitely visit thus lovely inn again.

Hello, It's difficult to write reviews when there are no comparison options. But Jane and Stevie are a couple that is second to none. The way you interact with your guests and yourself is an experience you won't forget. We stayed there for 3 nights and the dinner evenings were unforgettable. Mop’s delightful B&B has huge quirky charm. Mop has furnished it in cheerful pastels and her love of the surrounding countryside and wildlife expresses itself in numerous touches. The kitchenette, separate from the bedroom, has everything you could possibly need for a continental breakfast. This includes good quality wholemeal bread and much more. There is plenty of information about local sites and walks. Communication was good at all times. Mop was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The bed was comfortable, and there was a discrete space for me to park up my bike. Very many thanks, Mop.

Lovely cottage with all the comfort for our stay. Beautiful location. The swimming pool was a hit with our teen and so were the horses. Lots of great walks at the door step. Would love to return.

Everything contributed to a lovely experience and an unforgettable holiday. The family room we had was very clean and quiet. The hotel is situated in a lovely small town, with beautiful shops. However, please stay away from the Exmoor Fish And Chips place - they serve their friends, neighbours and loyal customers first, even though you're before them in the queue (we were number 74 and they had served up to number 88 before we finally asked why it was was taking them more than one hour to do 3 chips and one sausage). Our bathroom had two wash basins, which we loved. The hosts at the Lion Hotel were extremely welcoming, warm, and kind, and we felt very grateful for everything. The food at the Lion Hotel restaurant looked and tasted absolutely amazing. The service was excellent as well. We loved both the breakfast and the dinner. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, Ian and Peter. It was lovely to see a successful family-run business and be able to contribute to that. We really hope to come back.

    Lovely rural location by the Tarr Steps. Dog-friendly b&b, with a useful little entrance area between our rooms (3&4) which served as a space to wipe dog paws and keep coats and leads, etc. Breakfast was very tasty - lovely sausages.

    The location is incredible - it's in a secluded spot in a wooded valley overlooking the Tarr steps and Barle River; probably the best star visibility I've seen in the UK. The room was comfortable and spacious with a decent shower. Dinner was excellent. Dogs welcome.
