A very cozy hotel in a picturesque little town. The hotel was in a very new and freshly renovated condition. The room was very clean and the box spring bed was very comfortable. The owners put a lot of thought into the room equipment, we had almost everything you could ask for: Bathrobes, shampoo, shower gel and hand cream, fresh milk in the fridge as well as a selection of different teas and coffee, cereals, dishes and cutlery, smart TV with internet. There was a very amazing breakfast which was brought directly to our room. Highly recommended!

Ideal location, garden, hosts lovely. Janice is a very experienced host as evidenced from the extras in the property; provided an allergen free hamper. Dog friendly and cosy, thick cob walls, decor in keeping with the age. On the first floor the bedroom fresh & bed was comfortable. Outdoor living equally spoilt, parasol, choice aspects at table in morning sun, L shape sofa in afternoon sun over well stocked garden & water feature & escape to the shade bistro rattan at the back door against an old stone wall cascading red berries so pretty. The cottage is attached to the hosts home & side entrance through a side gate, it was very private and their presence welcoming, always smiling & relaxed. It was a charming experience & look forward to seeing them again.

Everything! The house is amazing & the privacy is guaranteed, basically isolated in a piece of heaven! Richard is present but he doesn't invade your moments at all! Position close to the national park so by taxi, if you have no car, is easy to reach it! The village and the river near by very cute.

Great location, up a short sharp hill from the beach/ car park. Views over to Burgh island were stunning. Clean house, well appointed & perfect for our needs. One of, if not THE best inns I stayed at during my trip through the sout west of England. A very cosy room with a comfortable bed, all necessary appliances, a nice clean bathroom and very forthcoming hosts. Since I had to leave earlier than the normal breakfast time, they made me a breakfast tray that the brought to me the night before (with toaster and a winecooler for the milk etc.). Such a nice gesture. Would definitely stay there again!

    Lovely location and well equipped and comfortable cottage. Heating was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in spite of the rain! My daughter loved the indoor pool and I really enjoyed walking the dogs around the grounds first thing in the morning. Really appreciated the secure patio area and convenient parking. Would be very happy to return to Hope Cottage. Very comfortable and an excellent base for visiting beaches and Dartmoor.
