The location was perfect opposite the village car park with a donation charge of 50p. The accommodation was perfect with all the expected facilities and more. The pub and accommodation were both immaculately clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. Would definitely choose to stay again if visiting the area.

The Retreat is a beautiful property in the heart of Devon, it has all the modern devises that you can dream for cooking and the touch of having a TV set , built into the bed… but just amazing! I did enjoyed so much my stay surrounded by design, peace, and stylist decoration. The landlord was always available and helpful with our requests. We are so pleased that we had our little retreat there. Absolutely we recommend to everyone.

    The dog-friendly room we were allocated was provided with a feeding bowl, blanket and snacks for our furry travelling companion. The dog was allowed in the bar area where food could also be served. The hotel was easy to find.

    Lovely big spacious room, clean and comfortable with large bed, seating and a desk. A fan was provided which was a blessing on a hot night. There was masses of free parking and the breakfast was delicious. Dog treats and a water bowl for our dog was a lovely touch.

    Hotel was dog friendly which was nice was given a bow and a blank and some treats ,complimentary how to pay £15 for dog fees but then that's seems to be the general norm, bed was comfy and clean and room was very warm and had a very large window also was close to supermarket and close to a field for pets

    The rooms were dated but well equipped with good TVs, lots of space, and very comfortable beds. Bathrooms in serious need of modernisation, and the carpets were old fashioned - signs of dog hair here and there but that's inevitable in a dog friendly hotel I guess. The restaurant is great - really quick service, some talented chefs working away behind the scenes for sure. Breakfast had loads to choose from, and when something ran out it was quickly restocked.
