I've never been in a more rustic environment than in Mendatica. It's the ideal retreat from busy city life! You can walk for days in the forests without encountering anyone, see lots of wildlife and starry skies. The cabin is big and very well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette is well-equipped, with pans, pots and bialettis, an induction cooking plate, a fridge and an electric oven. The owner, Piero, is very helpful and friendly. Something to keep in mind: Mendatica is very small. Consider cooking yourself (nearest restaurant is 15 min by car) and visiting a supermarket before going up in the mountains. But there is also a very small shop in the village for some basic groceries (pasta, passata, canned foods,...)

The hosts were already awaiting me, a nice couple! While the location is quite remote, it was perfect for me, being on a 6-days-motorcycle trip in Liguria. Can specificially recommend also for TET-riders, if you come down from Colle di Garezzo, or plan the next day go to Colle die Garezzo and then to Via de Sale. If you are 1.80m like me, watch your head :) This aweseom, super silent village was build so long ago, when people didnt grow so high. But it has everything in it you need. Sylvana and husband also invited me to a nice dinner, everything cooked by herself.

The host was super friendly, the rooms are spacious, modern and clean (there was a small balcony in our room with a view on the small river nearby which was nice), the neighborhood is very calm and relaxing. We were looking for not too expensive stay with a private bathroom and the place exceeded our expectations.

I can't wait to return to Hotel Le Fonti. The hotel was at a good, quiet, safe location. The room was very clean, good size, and with a beautiful view of the nature from the balcony. The breakfast was very good with different options; toasts, cereal, salami, cheese, eggs, pancakes, waffles, pies, desserts, croissants and with water/juice/tea always available. The coffee was made to order and very good. The staff was very kind, always happy to help with any questions or requests. The free WiFi worked very good! I would recommend this hotel.

It is in a stupendous position in the mountains. Gorgeous views and absolutely silent all around. Perfectly renovated properties giving great comfort and privacy and toasty warm on a cold winters night. Fantastic hosts who were extremely helpful and accommodating, lovely people. Sitting outside after sunset on a deck chair in 30cm deep snow drinking wine and artisan beer, watching the moon rise, perfect!

Beautiful room, gorgeous view, I highly appreciated attention to all the details, nice breakfast. Giacomo was super friendly, he recommended the local restaurants, as well as things to do and all the information about the activities, as well as very interesting information about the history of the Triora and the area. I asked for two wine glasses which he kindly provided, and we had a nice aperitif in their beautiful garden with the candle light. Also our dog had a nice time running around the garden.
