I had a wonderful stay at Alakamandava spending 4 nights here at the beginning and end of a 2 week holiday. The beautiful apartment and location is peaceful and perfect to relax and unwind after a long flight, yet a short tuk tuk ride away from Colombo City. The hosts Dharshana and Bhagya ensure that you have everything you need, and the breakfast and meal choices were superb, really enjoyed the Sri Lankan options (although I had to Google some things, and there's also Pasta and Pizza etc.. As a solo traveller I felt completely safe here, it's very homely and so many pretty terraces to sit and look over the neighbourhood. I enjoyed watching the tree Squirells, and many different birds.. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Sri Lanka.

Everything is just perfect here. You dont feel like you are staying in a hotel, feels more like at some close relatives house. Owner and the people who are working here Saliya and Silva are just perfect, the hospitality is just amazing😊 Breakfast are so tasty. All hotel is very cleal. Wonderful thing is that if you are staying in deluxe room all the floor is yours with balcony and additional room. On the top of that sea is so close🤟 Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at this homestay. The house is large and spacious with an abundance of room for everyone to have a comfortable stay. Inside the house was really clean and had all the amenities to make it feel like you were at home. The host was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor garden and veranda was a pleasant surprise. Beautiful & quiet. Didn't have time to play but you could play badminton. They even have rackets & net. Highly recommend this place that is located centrally in the heart of Colombo for those who seek quiet comfort with a luxury feel.

This property was perfect for our group of six. We found it to be extremely conveniently located, impeccably clean, and very comfortable throughout our stay. The availability of parking for approximately two cars (depending on their size) was a definite plus. It's a beautiful, impeccably appointed, independent room with a sitting area and a small courtyard. None of the cramped feel of some hotel rooms. Wide, comfortable bed. Good shower. It all seems new in Dec 2024. The charming host lives in the building and has clearly put a lot of thought into everything, right down to the complimentary ear plugs. I'm sensitive to street noise but I didn't find it a problem. The location is not exactly central but there are plenty of cafes/restaurants in the vicinity. The host is happy to advise if necessary.

After a few minor misunderstandings at the beginning, we were warmly welcomed into this little corner of paradise just outside Colombo. Thanks to Chandrika, a truly wonderful host, we immediately felt at home. We are a family of four, and each of us had a perfectly furnished private bedroom — a real comfort during our stay. The apartment is beautifully maintained with great attention to detail. The residence itself is safe, with guards at the entrance, and offers excellent facilities: a beautiful swimming pool and a tennis court, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although slightly outside the city center, tuk-tuks made it easy and convenient to reach everything we needed. Breakfast, prepared daily by Chandrika, was always delicious, generous, and varied — a real highlight of our stay. In short, this place is not only worth trying once, but definitely worth coming back to. Highly recommended!
