We had the privilege of staying at A Su Homestay in Mu Cang Chai for a couple of nights, and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Vietnam. Nestled amidst the breathtaking terraced rice fields for which the region is famous, the homestay offered not only a stunning view but also a genuine cultural immersion that we will never forget. What made our stay exceptional was having A Su as both our host and guide. His knowledge and passion for Hmong culture shone through in every interaction. He introduced us to the rich traditions of his community, sharing stories and teaching us about their way of life. One of the most unique experiences was learning to play the Qeej, a traditional Hmong bamboo flute. While it was challenging, A Su’s father patient instruction made it so much fun, and it deepened our appreciation for the Hmong people's artistry and music. We were also honored to share dinner with his lovely family each evening. The meals were not only delicious—featuring fresh, local ingredients—but also a true reflection of Hmong culinary traditions. Sitting together with his family, listening to their stories, and laughing over shared moments made us feel like part of the community, even if just for a short time. Mu Cang Chai itself is a stunning destination, but staying with A Su elevated our experience to something truly unforgettable. If you’re looking to go beyond the surface and connect with the people and culture of this beautiful region, I can’t recommend A Su Homestay enough. It’s a rare opportunity to see the world through a different lens and take home not just pictures but lasting memories and a deeper understanding of Hmong life. Location if you like to scape of the crowds, is at the top of a hill where you can do paragliding, the views are breathtaking, the road to get there is awesome to the ones who are riding Vietnam with motorbike this a great spot to overnight and keep going, you’re in the middle of the mountains that you can see the clouds hook up at the top of them, all the noises from insects can be heard without the eternal noise of an engine running from far. There’s a restaurant where despite is not the cheapest are good portions. The family invite me to join them to dinner at night and even I didn’t understand a word it felt such a lovely atmosphere.

After one month in Vietnam this has to be my favourite stay. Such a relaxing location with comfortable and clean rooms. The hot spring was also fantastic. Luxury stay at budget prices! Great food also.

The first time I stayed at the Cau Treo Homestay. The room here has a balcony, free wifi. Homestay also has a free private parking space. Here, the reception can provide useful information to help me visit the surrounding area conveniently. The residential room is also fully equipped. I really like to rest here and will come here if there is a chance.
