Gem in East - small town with harbor and history, hiking tracks, restaurants plus excellent place to stay. Spacious and well equipped place, where our family would have wanted to stay for longer. Furniture and interior design was so nice, cosy and all details seemed to be considered to be suitable for this area.

This property was in a remote location but very near the Hengifoss waterfall which was our next stop. Beautiful valley views. Cozy small and comfortable apartment.

It fit our family of four perfectly and had all we needed. We loved our stay here and would stay again.

Located in Neskaupstaður in the East Iceland region, Skorrahestar provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The property has mountain and garden views. The farm stay features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. The two hosts were fantastic, they made us feel right at home! Upon check-in, the owner gave us a tour of the entire hotel and explained the story behind their business and their family. Had some lovely talks with both of them throughout our stay and I loved all the personal touches they added to the decor of the hotel. They were extremely accommodating and even let us put a few groceries in their fridge. We made our own dinner in the shared kitchen and enjoyed it on the outside terrace while watching the sunset behind the mountains. The surroundings were peaceful and offered the most beautiful views. We even watched a wild fox come and play with their dog!! The kitchen was clean and fully stocked with all of the equipment you need. Breakfast was superb, they offered a wide variety of meats, cheese, cereal, fruit and even fresh bread baked by the owner's wife. Our room was spacious, had a separate/private entrace, large bathroom and even included an extremely comfortable couch to relax on. Their service and hospitality was our favourite part. This was the best stay in all of Iceland, and we are so happy to have met the hosts!

I was initially drawn in by the incredibly affordable rates, which led me to expect a rather basic lodging and dining experience. To my absolute delight, I couldn't have been more mistaken. The room I stayed in was nothing short of fantastic, and the restaurant left me in awe. The staff, without exception, was both incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly. However, the real gem here is the owner, who boasts an impressive depth of knowledge about the local wildlife. Every one of my numerous questions was met with boundless enthusiasm and a wealth of expertise. It's safe to say that I'm eagerly anticipating a return trip, set for the upcoming summer or fall season, in pursuit of a memorable fishing adventure. This place exceeded my expectations on every level, and I can't wait to experience it all over again.
