We did a couple of tours. One was a minivan tour showing us the blue eye and Gyrokaster which was brilliant then we took a boat tour down the coast which was definitely not our sort of trip, banging music was spoiling the peace and tranquility, the beach we were dropped at for 3 hours was covered in rubbish. Taxis are expensive but we used a local bus to go to Butrint and Ksamil which was easy and well worth doing. Ksamil is a very beautiful resort with numerous stunning beaches and crystal-clear azure waters. There are plenty of quality restaurants offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The only drawback is that almost all beach spots are paid, meaning you need to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas. The cheapest spots started at around €15 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, while more premium locations charged €30 to €40 per set. Luxury cabana-style spots could cost up to €70 per day. Almost everywhere accepted euros, so it was not necessary to exchange money into the local currency. Alternatively, you could pay in euros and receive change in the local currency (Albanian lek). We loved Vlore, the last stop on our travels through Albania, easy to navigate. We stayed in the most magnificent apartment Luxury seaview Apartment hosted by outstanding Mathias on Murat Terbaci Boulevard that long Boulevard was so beautiful with so much going on cafes, shops beached across the road. Know where you are going and evaluate it accordingly! Durres is a city that is developing at a rapid pace, including the coast, the port and the city. The coastal promenade began to be transformed in 2022 and it turned out beautifully! It has one shortcoming, there is no garbage collector anywhere by the sidewalk, despite this, there is no garbage anywhere. Along the coast, you can still see the buildings left from the 19th century fishing village, some of them are still inhabited (!), in some places there is still a pile of garbage, beggars walk around in the evening, but the sea is fine, the transformation of the coast was very successful. Getting into the city from the hotel row by bus is inconvenient. It is nice to see how the city and the coast are completely transformed and modernized over the years. In 2025, three new hotels will be built on the hotel row, within a kilometer, and the handover is scheduled for 2026. Let's take a look! The food is pretty much the same everywhere, good, as are the prices, but the hospitality at the DELFINI restaurant is excellent! The people are nice and friendly. The traffic, oh my, you have to pay attention! The one whose car is ahead has priority. They honk, but despite that, they are patient and understanding with foreigners. In previous years, there was a concrete-lined beach area in front of some hotels, which was being cleaned up. Unfortunately, the concrete pieces can still be found underwater, which is very unpleasant to step on. Beachgoers throw the concrete pieces onto the beach, and the garbage truck takes them away the next morning. It would be nice to sift this out with a machine! In Italy, we saw a tractor that sifted and cleaned not only the beach sand, but also the sand in the shallow water. It should be done here, too!Guest review byJózsefHungary - 10.0

Drymades beach town is only worth visiting for the beach - which is amazing. Smallpeeble beach with clear clean water. Noting to see og do in the besch area. Only restaurants, minimarkets and beachbars. No shops or small streets. The restaurants are in general overpriced compared to other areas in Albania and the food and service does not follow the high prices. After almost 2,000 km traveled by car in nearly 30 hours due to countless traffic jams, we managed to arrive home without other problems, but of course extremely tired—yet with beautiful memories, to which you also contributed with your kindness and the valuable advice you gave us. We learned, with your help, that Albania is a beautiful country, still in a period of reconstruction, full of wonderful and hardworking people, always ready to help you with everything they can. But perhaps the most important thing is that they have not forgotten that Romanians and Albanians have been, and still are, brothers. We are connected by both past and present. The first thing that surprised us about our host was the outstanding cleanliness we found inside the apartment. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with absolutely everything necessary, air conditioning in every room as well as in the kitchen, clean bed sheets, immaculate white towels, etc. It has happened to me to stay in luxury hotels and not find this level of perfection. About the hosts, we have only words of praise. Even before our arrival, they checked if we were all right, if anything had happened, and during our entire stay they were always there for us—at any hour—through WhatsApp and even through Mr. Nardi himself coming to the apartment in person, even though they live quite a distance away. We were pleasantly surprised that we even had free sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. At our departure, they even offered to help us if we needed anything. Qeparo is a charming little village with a lovely "shetitore" (promenade) perfect for evening walks along the beach. The village stretches along the coast, offering breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters, though you'll need to walk a few steps to reach the shore. We had no trouble finding a sunbed without reservations, and the food was delicious and fairly priced—highly recommend restaurants Poseidon and Te Stefi! The only downside was the lack of trash bins along the promenade, which left the walking path a bit messy. This is definitely an area that could be improved. The owners seemed to make the effort to provide with help and assistance, despite the lack of quality in the aspects below. For the price you pay in high season which was 45 EUR per night, of course you don't expect luxury, but some basics should be in place: - 1st of all, the photos used in Booking.com were all from the 2nd building they manage, and don't correspond with the room booked at least on 50%. - the power plugs were a hazard to be aware(when you're travelling with a toddler). - the electric stove provided was almost at half meter height, a constant danger for toddlers. - the air con could be put on only by plugging in the plug and it was configured to the coldest temperature, very annoying to deal with it during the night. - hygiene could've improved: closet was dirty on the top, full of dust, the bathroom super-small. - when I asked for a sponge and dishwashing lotion, the owner told me that I was the 1st ever to ask for that.
