I had a wonderful 27h stay in Tirana, the hospitality industry here knows to treat customers / tourists very well, from the taxi driver to the hotel and the restaurants from city centre, it makes you want to come back for your holidays. Just to make sure you don't have a bad experience with taxies you can ask hotel staff to order one for you or you can use VrapOn Taxi app but you need to have cash. This is perfect for its purpose! A clean, comfy bed to catch some sleep before a flight. We could return our car, walk to Rinas to sleep and walk to the airport in the early morning. i think we should not expect anything from Tirana, just go to the beaches near by and visit restaurants and spend time. we did that in many restaurants in the city. We can not compare Tirana with other European cities. We arrived in the evening and toured Tirana the following day. That would have been enough but we stayed another day. The city has an amazing number of restaurants and cafes on nice tree lined streets. For some reason, Tirana has no historic town center like most European cities but the area around Skanderbeg Square is interesting. One is constantly reminded of the distressing time when the communists controlled the country and suppressed the entire population. Definitely visit the Bunk'Art 1 Museum (and Bunk'Art 2 if you have time). Also visit the "House of Leaves" museum to get a feeling for the incredible surveillance through which the communists controlled the country.Guest review byGaryGermany - 8.0
