The village is lovely and quiet.
The village is lovely and quiet. The view on the lake and the moutains is fantastic. There are possibilities to eat out, have a nice treat in front of the lake, and to rent equipment such as bikes (all year) or ski/snowshoe (during the high season in winter). There is a great amount of walking/biking pathways starting from Walchsee all around the lake, with good signposting, that takes you to summits, some even accessible in March depending on the snow. With this unfortunate climate change, it was really accessible on foot in mid-March already just with hiking shoes and sometimes small crampons/microspikes. Walchsee is only an hour drive fron Kitzbuhel and Ellmau, where you can still ski/snowshoe at this time of year. Walchsee is also at an hour drive from Salzburg and Innsbruck if you want to enjoy the charm of small cities with a tyrolean style. So you will have a peaceful stay in this lovely village, while being able to kick things up on foot, with a car or with the bus using the Kaiserwinkl pass!Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
If you are looking for an amazing place to say in Austria.
If you are looking for an amazing place to say in Austria. I highly recommend you visit the beautiful village of Kössen. There are plenty of hotel's, guesthouses and houses on the various house sharing apps to pick from. If you love great restaurants, bars and cofe's you will definitely find it all in Kössen. The village has great trails and plenty of paths for everyone to enjoy. The people are very friendly and really go out of their way to make everyone feel so welcome. If you love rafting, walking, hiking and paragliding you will love your stay in Kössen. To everyone that loves winter activities you will absolutely love your stay. Lastly I recommend you visit the local tourist office upon your arrival to Kössen. They can give you lots of great information and answer all your questions.Guest review byJames WhyteUnited States - 10.0

We love the wooden house with a nice balcony and the cleanliness, the beautiful Mountain View and the free space around the house! Our favourite moment have been the breakfast time with the view to the mountain as well. What we don’t like the most is that we did not travel with the car this time it was a bit difficult to get around!Guest review by77 - 10.0

Great little town with a lovely lake, really nice to swim in the lake, or Nice to walk round, takes about an hour to walk round or 15 mins to cycle. The town is mostly cash only which can be a little frustrating.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom
