This is a charming small family-run hotel with a breathtaking view of the castle on the hill, it’s absolutely gorgeous! If rooms with a view are available, definitely book one. Even if not, you can still enjoy the view from the breakfast restaurant or the terrace. The owner is very kind, and we feel everything in this hotel is done with care and attention to detail. Everything is spotless, not a speck of dust, and even the taps, handles, and cutlery are polished. The bathroom is spacious and practical, with space for cosmetics, which is rare. The room also had a tea station, plus fresh fruit and cookies, such a nice touch. Breakfast was amazing. Usually in small hotels it’s pretty simple, but here it was good and varied – with red fish, berries, and everything tasted great.

The breakfast was exceptional, plenty to choose from and all fresh, it certainly set my day up. Coffee choices were great. The room with a balcony was excellent, the room was very spacious and comfortable, bathroom was also very spacious. The cleanliness of the room and hotel was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and cheerful. The view from the outside of the breakfast lounge area was very good and the hotel was in a great location, bus was 13 stops away from the city centre. I would recommend getting a Salzburg card.     The location is really nice, although the hotel is a bit far away from the city centre. The trolley bus stop nearby allows for easy access to the major tourist destinations. If you are travelling around Salzburg with a rented or your own car, this option is a perfect choice - there is more than enough parking space, and it doesn't cost a fortune in comparison to the hotels in the city centre. For us, this was the primary aspect which affected our accommodation choice. The beds were spacious, clean and supportive enough for a good night sleep without any back pain (which I appreciate a lot). On your demand, the pillow can be replaced either with a natural or an orthopedic one to satisfy your demands. The huge windows offer a panorama view over Salzburg from every room. The design of the rooms and the illumination are truly cool. Small tips - there's a mini-fridge in the room, and you can ask for an HDMI cable at the reception to connect your laptop to the room's TV and watch your favourite videos on big screen. The "Rituals" bath cosmetics offered by the hotel free of charge only added to the pleasant experience.

    I loved Salzburg.

    I loved Salzburg. Had planned a full-day round trip from Vienna and the OBB train station agent asked me if I want my return open.I said ok. So thankful for that suggestion/question. I got there around 4pm and right away started searching for a hotel. The city centre across the river is where I spent my 1.5 days (except for the apartment hotel in Anif at night) I didn’t book a guide and only followed the tourist crowd. Loved the hill-top view, Mozart museum, street cafe and the view everywhere. I was lucky that the rain had just stopped the day of my trip. would’ve loved the Eagle Nest and Sound of Music tour but no time for them.

Would advise when booking accommodation that you book somewhere that includes the summer card as this gives you free access to all the gondolas in the area and free travel on local buses and trains plus discounted entry to many activities and saves you a lot of money.

    Bad Gastein is an amazing mix of natural beauty and old-world charm, surrounded by stunning mountains and lush forests. In winter its a fantastic skiing area, and since its over 1000 meters elevated they usually have a long skiing season. In summer its great for hiking! There’s so much to do, from relaxing in the famous thermal spas to exploring endless hiking trails with breathtaking views.

    A village in beautiful scenery that lacks something. Accessibility of services (hiking, lifts, restaurants) was a bit confusing. Many services did not have clear English instructions/price lists/online shops. The Tyrolean region summer card seemed to give you a much wider range of services than the Salzburger region.

    I've been visiting Bad Hofgastein for 12 years in the summer holiday, and with every visit it gets a bigger space in my heart. Plenty of memories, plenty of relaxation, plenty of beautiful and peaceful sceneries, and every year people are being nicer and sweeter. The town keeps developing and renovating that can be noticed in every visit.

    It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities...

    It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!

    Sankt Johann is a clean and beautiful town with gorgeous...

    Sankt Johann is a clean and beautiful town with gorgeous views of the mountains. Walked to visit the town center for breakfast at Bäckerei-Cafe-Konditorei Bauer. We visited Liechtensteinklamm just before they closed. It was the best time to visit the gorge.

    Such a wonderful small town.

    Such a wonderful small town. Sound of music tour was lots of fun. Many good restaurants. Very walkable. We were lucky to be there for a local traditional festival, which was almost like a little Octoberfest, but not rowdy.
