The breakfast was exceptional, plenty to choose from and all fresh, it certainly set my day up. Coffee choices were great. The room with a balcony was excellent, the room was very spacious and comfortable, bathroom was also very spacious. The cleanliness of the room and hotel was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and cheerful. The view from the outside of the breakfast lounge area was very good and the hotel was in a great location, bus was 13 stops away from the city centre. I would recommend getting a Salzburg card. Personable and friendly staff who were always helpful. Quiet location (in a village) and only 15 minutes on the bus to Salzburg centre. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Lovely breakfast, super comfortable bed, spacious spa area with 4 different spa types and areas to relax. Absolutely spotlessly clean, the owners (family owned) obviously take a great deal of pride in making sure everything is perfect for their guests. Great place to stay, would highly recommend.

    I am very glad that the hotel has been improved significantly. We were first frightened by comments months ago concerning filthy and terrible conditions of the hotel. Howeve, there were some positive comments in the last few weeks so we decided to give us a try (plus the price was such a bargain). We were not disappointed fortunately. The room is not too spacious, however, it is perfect for short-stays. Very clean and very modern. Hot bath, kettle, tea and coffee bags, clean beddings, mini fridge, and central location - I cannot ask for anything more given the price we paid. On the other hand, it would be much better if the hotel could prepare water bottles in each room. We needed to boil the water ourselves to get some drinkable water :) Besides, they don't have 24-hour reception desk, which is a pity as some visitors might have serious flight delays or midnight flights. For us, we tried to reach the receptionist at 12AM as we were desperately thirsty but saw no one :). But never mind, in general, very very nice stay. I recommend!

    The hotel is excellent. It's modern, clean and is located some 20km from Salzburg. Our room was big and cosy. The breakfast was decent but the dinner was amazing. It had charger for our electric car, which was very convenient. Also the area beside hotel is very well-thought, there was a playground and little garden for our kids to play with a small fountain and recreation spots. Huge and magnificent mountain is just behind the hotel. This short stay was heart warming experience, I truly recommend.

    I loved Salzburg.

    I loved Salzburg. Had planned a full-day round trip from Vienna and the OBB train station agent asked me if I want my return open.I said ok. So thankful for that suggestion/question. I got there around 4pm and right away started searching for a hotel. The city centre across the river is where I spent my 1.5 days (except for the apartment hotel in Anif at night) I didn’t book a guide and only followed the tourist crowd. Loved the hill-top view, Mozart museum, street cafe and the view everywhere. I was lucky that the rain had just stopped the day of my trip. would’ve loved the Eagle Nest and Sound of Music tour but no time for them.

    It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!

    Nice old town to walk around. Have some nice restaurants like the Indian restaura, Namaste. Very authentic Indian food with good service and atmosphere. Another restaurant is Genusskramerei. This restaurant has a small but exclusive menu. Upmarket.

    A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps.     The apartment was in a good location, away from Salzburg center but an easy drive. Grodig is cute & walkable. Good grocery store around the corner & fabulous fish market down the street. We did not eat out so can’t say anything about the food scene. The apartment was perfect for two. The view of the mountains is good but first floor is really looking onto the parking area. A second floor apartment would give the better mountain views. There are bike trails theoughout the area & bike racks at the apartment.

    The Hof bei Salzburg itself is a beautiful peasefull village...

    The Hof bei Salzburg itself is a beautiful peasefull village, very calm and quiet. Lots of supermarkets and DM store available and located in the village. In the evening after 7 pm everithing pretty closed, so make your shopping in advance.

    I have not visit this village but from the hotel is a 7...

    I have not visit this village but from the hotel is a 7 minutes walk to the bus stop. I took the bus to Salzburg and it saves a lot of hassle to find parking etc. The bus number is 160 and costed 3.30 Euros per person. The journey is circa 20 minutes and I got off at Morzartplatz. The bus back is on the other side of the river Salzach, near the Rathaus.

    Such a wonderful small town.

    Such a wonderful small town. Sound of music tour was lots of fun. Many good restaurants. Very walkable. We were lucky to be there for a local traditional festival, which was almost like a little Octoberfest, but not rowdy.

    the staff is amazing

    the staff is amazing To things are subjects for improvement First 1.enrich the breakfast 2.There is no refrigerator and safe in the rooms, in my opinion this is a big drawback, a hotel with excellent service like the Kammel needs a safe and a refrigerator in the room for the comfort of the guests
