This is the most exceptional hotel we have stayed in in our 40 years of traveling. The decor is beautiful, inviting , and thoughtful. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and so well presented plus you are asked about having any type of egg dish desired. The entire hotel is spotless and we had a coffee maker with pods in our room that I had requested in advance. The MAIN thing that sets this hotel apart from all others is the STAFF in every department . Special thanks to Miriam, Viktoria, Anjelica, Eni, Andrea, and Lora for their geniune kindess and caring.     The location of Hotel Jufa is excellent, just 200 metres from the base of the starting point of Salzburg Castle, old town. The breakfast had a lot of varieties, though it could add a little bit more of cakes / sweet stuff. The room which we stayed in had no balcony but it had big dual windows which opened to the inner courtyard. The room was of good size. The reception staff was helpful and answered the few questions which I had. There was a jazz festival going on during our visit which made it even more memorable. Good value for money and highly recommended. Would love to come back again.

    The hotel has been recently renovated: modern design, new furniture, comfortable bed. Also there were cosmetics in the bathroom, including hair conditioner; and a kettle in the room with set of tea and coffee (these is a useful staff that unfortunately you won't find in every hotel). Lobby is small, however you can find there a coffee machine, that is free and you can use it when you want. Location is also great, 10 min from the train station and 10 min from the historical centre. You can walk or take trolleybus, the stop is just a few steps from the hotel.

    I loved Salzburg.

    I loved Salzburg. Had planned a full-day round trip from Vienna and the OBB train station agent asked me if I want my return open.I said ok. So thankful for that suggestion/question. I got there around 4pm and right away started searching for a hotel. The city centre across the river is where I spent my 1.5 days (except for the apartment hotel in Anif at night) I didn’t book a guide and only followed the tourist crowd. Loved the hill-top view, Mozart museum, street cafe and the view everywhere. I was lucky that the rain had just stopped the day of my trip. would’ve loved the Eagle Nest and Sound of Music tour but no time for them.

    It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!

    The staff and hospitality, the effort they made to speak to me in English, they even brought me breakfast out to the patio, everyone else was inside the dining hall, I wanted to enjoy the nice fall weather, by the way the breakfast was easily worth $35.00

    Nice old town to walk around. Have some nice restaurants like the Indian restaura, Namaste. Very authentic Indian food with good service and atmosphere. Another restaurant is Genusskramerei. This restaurant has a small but exclusive menu. Upmarket.

    A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. And the sky at night is spectacular! Want an authentic taste of Austrian Gemütlichkeit? This is your place!

    The apartment was in a good location, away from Salzburg center but an easy drive. Grodig is cute & walkable. Good grocery store around the corner & fabulous fish market down the street. We did not eat out so can’t say anything about the food scene. The apartment was perfect for two. The view of the mountains is good but first floor is really looking onto the parking area. A second floor apartment would give the better mountain views. There are bike trails theoughout the area & bike racks at the apartment.

    The Hof bei Salzburg itself is a beautiful peasefull village, very calm and quiet. Lots of supermarkets and DM store available and located in the village. In the evening after 7 pm everithing pretty closed, so make your shopping in advance.

    I have not visit this village but from the hotel is a 7 minutes walk to the bus stop. I took the bus to Salzburg and it saves a lot of hassle to find parking etc. The bus number is 160 and costed 3.30 Euros per person. The journey is circa 20 minutes and I got off at Morzartplatz. The bus back is on the other side of the river Salzach, near the Rathaus.

    Such a wonderful small town.

    Such a wonderful small town. Sound of music tour was lots of fun. Many good restaurants. Very walkable. We were lucky to be there for a local traditional festival, which was almost like a little Octoberfest, but not rowdy.
