- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 67 reviewsWhere to start... this place is a gem. The location is incredibly rare and special. The sounds of the birds, bats and insect life are unique and it's just so lovely to fall asleep and wake up to. The walking trails, make sure you have enough light left in the day to not get lost! It's an adventure exploring all the tracks. My favourite track was the boardwalk that went along the creek. That blew my mind! How can something be so pretty! We enjoyed collecting the colourful fruits and pods on the forest floor. Never seen anything like them before. The rooms are basic but large and comfortable. The bathroom is squishy but we didn't mind. It's just a bathroom. The owners are so lovely. They brought us a microwave and plates etc so we could heat up the food we brought. They also have a BBQ and there's a fridge and kettle in the room. I wanted to stay there for longer. I've already told my friends to stay there and they have booked for July!Guest review byAmberAndMarkAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 75 reviewsBeautiful location surrounded by rainforest, fruit trees, and birds really immerses you in the wilderness experience. The cabin has ample space to spread out for a couple, enjoy the views and enjoy simple meals. The bed was comfortable and bathroom well equipped to clean up after hikes and snorkeling. We only prepared simple breakfasts, for which the facilities were perfect, but you'll need to plan ahead, bring more items and get creative for bigger meals. Meals on the veranda were so much fun. The unit was very clean considering its location and all the netting, windows, etc were very effective at keeping the bugs outside.Guest review byJosephCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 222 reviewsThis eco lodge is a real gem. It is run on sustainable principles, with everything elevated above Rainforest ground. Each visitor is assigned their own detached hut at the end of a walkway, and the huts have lots of windows and a long skylight to look out at the rain forest where you see cassowary droppings. The beds are highly comfortable and bathroom is amazing with natural bath fittings and the shower having a full height window. Staff are lovely with lots of information provided about the Rainforest and surrounding area to explore. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both were superb. Loved our stay.Guest review byStuartCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 46 reviewsAbsolutely amazing place to stay tucked into the stunning Daintree rainforest. Can't recommend this place highly enough, simple minimalistic feel while still providing everything you need. Large open space bringing the rainforest inside. So quiet and peaceful. Made to just move around a lounge about. I didn't have a car but everything is within walking distance. Anita was also so quick to reply with any queries and super helpful with local knowledge. You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Thank you again Anita for having me stayGuest review byTaylaNew Zealand
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 55 reviewsWe loved the room and outside cooking area. The Farm had everything you could possibly need and looked exactly like the photos and more. Great facilities to cook in, as well as a pizza oven. Makes for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The complimentary breakfast with farm picked fruit, bread, jam and cereals made for a unique experience. The family were so helpful and kind. Will be returning one day!Guest review byTareseAustralia

Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place.
Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place. You can walk along the long, beautiful beach with the ocean on one side and tropical rainforest on the other. When you walk back into the rainforest you are on a boardwalk which takes you through huge mangroves then through the tropical rainforest with a stunning variety of rainforest trees and other plants. You see lots of butterflies as well as birds, goannas and fruit bats. It is a place that fills you with awe.Guest review bySylviaAustralia - 10.0
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation.
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. A must see if you are heading to Cairns, Palm Cove or Port.Douglas. It’s is a world heritage site. We did indigenous tour at Mossman gorge which was great. Beautiful tropical trees and fauna. Fresh healthy air. You must do it!Guest review byMichymoo2706Australia - 10.0

Great location in a largely forested area, with a wonderful view into, and out over, rainforest slopes. Lovely timber house with spacious living room and large bedroom, and you can experience living off-grid. The verandah is perched over a steep bush garden and was perfect for relaxing. We really appreciated that a stove-top coffee maker (mockapot) was supplied and luckily we had a packet of ground coffee and a milk frother with us. It was essential to get supplies (supermarket in Mossman) before driving to Diwan. Its a perfect base for exploring north of the Daintree Rainforest, not far from the Daintree Rainforest Visitors Centre and convenient for trips to Cape Tribulation, Tropical fruit farm, many forest boardwalks (Madja boardwalk was our favourite) and of course the reef.Guest review byRossAustralia - 10.0
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree.
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)Guest review bykimAustralia - 10.0
Beautiful location, stunning views.
Beautiful location, stunning views. We stayed in large spacious house close to the beach. We took all of our own food as there were excellent kitchen facilities. The beach is stunning. The Daintree area has lots to offer.Guest review byJody - 10.0

I loved how it was close to the beach and very quiet and peaceful. With a little driving most attractions were close by or within half hour. Spending time in the Daintree was spectacular and I found most of the visitors were respectful of the tranquillity. Half an hour to Port Douglas for shopping or spending the day driving up to Cape Tribulation, river cruise, all great adventures.Guest review byKim - 8.0
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions.
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions. Highly recommended for nature lovers, hikers and anyone who wants to get away from it all. Getting away from it all includes not a whole lot of phone reception, so take a printed map. Limited groceries available so if you are self catering best to shop beforehand in Cairns or Mossman.Guest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10.0

The whole experience from the ferry ride, meandering along windy roads whilst taking in the magnificent tropical views to our destination was fascinating. The 2023 December cyclone caused chaos with the roads eroding & severely damaged, there are traffic management staff all the way with single lanes & traffic lights along cape tribulation road. Well worth a visit to support the local businesses & Heritage Lodge staff were amazing & our evening dinners were 5 star restaurantGuest review byDebraAustralia - 10.0

Our accommodation in Diwan was in an excellent location for exploring the amazing Daintree rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Nothing was further than 25 minutes away by car including Cow Bay, the Daintree Rainforest Discovery Centre, Thornton's Beach, Cape Tribulation, Cooper Creek Croc Cruise and various interesting boardwalks. We were predominantly self-catering, so we can't comment on the quality of most of the cafes and restaurants in the area. We did enjoy morning coffees at the Daintree Fan Palm Farm, which also offers organic pies, organic wholefoods and organic fresh local produce. The one meal we had out was at The Beach House in Cape Tribulation, where we shared a generous serve of fish tacos. Some restaurants can get very busy in the middle of the day when tour groups stop for lunch. Also be aware that they mostly finish their lunch service at 2.00pm.Guest review byLynetteAustralia - 10.0
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there. Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds. It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options. Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience. You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit. The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space. TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.Guest review byBruceAustralia
