The hotel seems to have been recently renovated, and all the facilities exceeded our expectations. The coffee machine was a great bonus! It’s an ideal choice for family trips, and its location makes visiting nearby wineries very convenient. Situated right in the heart of Maitland, the hotel is surrounded by shopping, dining, and leisure options. The riverside walkway was perfect for morning and evening dog walks. I soon learnt NOT to try booking a Cab (4990 1111) at night - very busy and no response; early morning was v good and quick; had a good, obliging Cab driver to and from the CC. Muswellbrook tend to be my home town soon. A lot of activities for the kids around the town: parks, playgrounds even there is a ten pin bowling and cinema. It is a bit unexpected to be so community focused for a small rural town. Good restaurants are available: Indian, Thai, Chinese cousins and of course traditional Aussie pubs. Fantastic array of heritage homes within the town. We had a lovely lunch at the Assar Cafe which we highly recommend. Dinner at the Golf Club & RSL, excellent. The property does not deserve a 8.1 rating. Could not use the shower or the air conditioner due to there below poor condition, including foul smell. Beds were terrible.
