Kingston Hotel had extremely large rooms and was on the opposite block to Coles supermarket and other shops. The rooms were separate from the hotel which enabled a very quiet sleep. Shiploads and Chemist etc were just outside the door approx 50m an easy walk. Didn't get a chance to see anything else.Guest review byChristopherAustralia - 8.0
An interesting area with things to see.
An interesting area with things to see. The Hastings caves were wonderful and the Tahune Adventures Airwalk is great too. It's a bit hard to find a coffee and something to eat at times, if you don't plan ahead.Guest review byWakeyAustralia - 8.0
A small friendly town in the south of Tasmania.
A small friendly town in the south of Tasmania. A good area to base yourself for trips to Cockle Creek, Hastings caves and Southport. The local scenic roads can be windy at times, with patches of dirt roads which can vary in their condition depending on the time of year. Beautiful views of the Channel and Bruny island as well as the many bays and inlets. There is a small IGA in town, a BP service station with driveway service... open 7 day a week. certainly, a bit of a rarity in this day of self-serve! There is a golf club which also has food service, and a couple of small cafes. You need to check the opening hours as they weren't open during our stay.Guest review byMrs PicklesAustralia - 10.0
The views were spectacular.
The views were spectacular. The water was clear and the beaches were clean. Lots of available car parking. There was a great restaurant down the road (5 minutes walk) called the “Beach House” where we ate breakfast and dinner. Coffee, food and service was awesomeGuest review byRobAustralia - 10.0

Kettering is the gateway/ferry to Bruny Island (which we toured around for a day). The little township has a hotel. We ate there and at Peppermint Cove in Woodbridge on the waters edge. We also ate at Phoenix Restaurant in Snug. All served quality food. We took a drive to Huonville and Cygnet and did some wine and cider tasting. Our accommodation at Oyster Cove Chalet was quiet and very comfortable. Within an hour and half drive to Tahune Air Walk or Hasting Caves and Spa - although we didn't have time for them (Next time!)Guest review byCarolAustralia - 10.0

We just loved the entire vibe and ambience of the space. The location and set up allowed my partner and me to completing relax and decompress from some long days of driving and the busy city of Hobart. We did not have to leave the place for food as there was some complimentary food provided and we brought groceries ourselves, and thanks to the hyper efficient portable electric stovetop we were able to cook any food we needed with ease and efficiency.Guest review byGaryCanada - 10.0

It’s located in a very nice area of Tasmania and reasonably close to Hobart.(less than 40 kilometres) Surrounded by mountains and orchards on the Huon river. We made the easy drive down as far as Dover and also enjoyed the Tahune tree top air walk.Guest review byDoug.Australia - 10.0
Loved that we stayed here.
Loved that we stayed here. I orginally wanted to stay in the Tower suite but it was booked for the dates i wanted to stay. So i booked a suite anyway. On our second day (we visited Bruny Island) i received a phone call from Villa Howden asking if we wanted to have an upgrade to the Tower suite as it was my birthday. So they moved all of our things into this beautiful suite. It was so thoughtful. Villa Howden is easily accessible if you have a car and getting to and from everywhere is easy. The Villa itself is just lovely considering its age. It does require some work. We had dinner one night there and breakfast everyday. Room was very clean and so were bathrooms. Like that it has a seperate toilet to the bathroom. Fridge is stocked of snacks and drinks which I think is excellent. Nothing was an issue for the staff at Villa Howden. We plan on coming back again in the future.Guest review byAmieAustralia - 10.0

This BnB would have to be top of the bucket list, with absolutely impeccable presentation, wonderful hosts, great outlook over the bay and close to other attractions and tours. Will definitely stay there again, but for longer.Guest review byStephenAustralia - 8.0
Franklin is a great base to explore along the Huon River.
Franklin is a great base to explore along the Huon River. There are many great surprises to be found when taking a casual drive and so many wonderful places to eat! So many little parks that are also great for picnics. Great fresh fruit can be purchased at any number of roadside stops. Very picturesque!Guest review byKarenAustralia
