- From US$407.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 16 reviewsThis house is stunning. Superb. Very well stocked kitchen supplies, great bathrooms, excellent beds, wonderful views... Everything was so tastefully decorated and well thought through. All the appliances worked perfectly and the fireplace was a treat. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. So many windows in the house but very well placed giving you the feeling of privacy whilst enjoying incredible views. The small garden with a fruit orchard was pretty and the host welcomed us to take what we want from the veggies growing. Fabulous showers and toiletries. Information on how to use appliances/laundry/fire place etc was clear and accessible, and not overwhelming. Obviously very generous, kind and trusting people own this house. Would have loved to stay there, or live there even better! (The neighbour let us feed his chickens with our food scraps!)Guest review byPaulSpain
- From US$363.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 42 reviewsQuiet location overlooking surrounding farmland. Ideally located for exploring the area. We loved the log fire and the accommodation was so comfortable that it felt like a home from home. Bird watching from the porch was a real treat and we were privileged to see 2 wedge tailed eagles soaring above us on a nearby approach road.Guest review byLizUnited Kingdom
- From US$105.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,034 reviewsWow. First of all it wasn’t the plan to book this property because it was far from where we were. Anyway, after discussion with the owner we decided to come and it was the best bet. Really good place, cozy and the scenery is really nice around the fire to get warmer Good rooms and kitchen, we had an awesome dinner.Guest review byThomasFrance

Our whole stay was amazing from the information we received ahead of our stay, easy check in, the location and comfort of our cottage, the view and all the extras like chilled wine, beer and water. So quiet and comfortable, so soothing just to enjoy the view across the water.Guest review byClareUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 32 reviewsAbsolutely beautiful place, so quirky but modern. Everything you could need was provided including a welcome pack with fresh eggs, butter. Milk and condiments. The fire warmed the whole place up so it was nice and cosy. Will definitely come back.Guest review byMargaretAustralia

An interesting area with things to see.
An interesting area with things to see. The Hastings caves were wonderful and the Tahune Adventures Airwalk is great too. It's a bit hard to find a coffee and something to eat at times, if you don't plan ahead.Guest review byWakeyAustralia - 6.0

We enjoyed a good meal at the Bush Inn pub which was a stroll from the property .It's claim to fame is it's Australia's oldest continuously operating licensed hotel, established in 1815. There is a bit of history around New Norfolk and a pleasant river walk.Guest review byBeverlyAustralia - 10.0
The village is beautiful.
The village is beautiful. The people are friendly and helpful. You have the Junee Cave Track beautiful walk (we only walk part of the way as it was getting late), the Tyenna River, heaps of history. It was only a short stay so was not able to see everything. We will leave that for our next stay there which will be longer :-)Guest review byAnonymousAustralia - 8.0

The cabin was very nice but you will need to bring prepared food as the brochures provided in the cabin, for local fooderies were very outdated. The bedding was clean but worn out . Great washing machine. Lovely bathroom. Kettle, toaster and microwave provided. The view was gorgeous with the current autumnal colours of the trees around the very pretty house in front. A wee bit of a vacuum to the two comfy chairs on the verandah would be great. Maybe a cover to keep them clean. Guests would appreciate that.Guest review byLauraAustralia - 8.0
A small friendly town in the south of Tasmania.
A small friendly town in the south of Tasmania. A good area to base yourself for trips to Cockle Creek, Hastings caves and Southport. The local scenic roads can be windy at times, with patches of dirt roads which can vary in their condition depending on the time of year. Beautiful views of the Channel and Bruny island as well as the many bays and inlets. There is a small IGA in town, a BP service station with driveway service... open 7 day a week. certainly, a bit of a rarity in this day of self-serve! There is a golf club which also has food service, and a couple of small cafes. You need to check the opening hours as they weren't open during our stay.Guest review byMrs PicklesAustralia - 6.0

In the listing it seems as though you can hire kayaks from Pedder wilderness Lodge to access the lake, however it is only once you arrive that it becomes clear that the only way to access the lake is through a different company who do guided 3 hour tours at a whopping $150 pp. Very misleading and ridiculously expensive. I've never paid $150 per night for a holiday experience anywhere else where as the paying customer I have been expected to remove the pool cover of a 30m lap pool by myself and then replace it when finished, or to disarm alarm systems and turn lights on for common areas such as the recreation centre where the pool was. The location of this property is spectacular and the staff were lovely but I would probably not go back to this venue. The owners are lucky they have the only property "in town" because any competition would force them to close. For the price of this property I expected more. Or at least what they advertise - live music, kayaks, board games that aren't broken, things for kids to do etc. But as is the case with most holiday venues in Tasmania - kids are never catered for properly, if at all.Guest review byErinAustralia - 10.0
Wish we had have stayed for longer.
Wish we had have stayed for longer. Host was absolutely beautiful and made an extra effort with all of her small touches to make this a truly memorable stay. Will definitely stay here again, spending time using the kayaks on the river and relaxing in this peaceful location. Highly recommend Hamilton Pub 1826 for dinner and Aunty Vs cafe for coffee. Great place to stay of hiking at Mount Field.Guest review byBelindaAustralia - 10.0

It’s located in a very nice area of Tasmania and reasonably close to Hobart.(less than 40 kilometres) Surrounded by mountains and orchards on the Huon river. We made the easy drive down as far as Dover and also enjoyed the Tahune tree top air walk.Guest review byDoug.Australia - 10.0

This BnB would have to be top of the bucket list, with absolutely impeccable presentation, wonderful hosts, great outlook over the bay and close to other attractions and tours. Will definitely stay there again, but for longer.Guest review byStephenAustralia - 8.0
Franklin is a great base to explore along the Huon River.
Franklin is a great base to explore along the Huon River. There are many great surprises to be found when taking a casual drive and so many wonderful places to eat! So many little parks that are also great for picnics. Great fresh fruit can be purchased at any number of roadside stops. Very picturesque!Guest review byKarenAustralia
