- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 11 reviewsI stayed at Morris Apartments with my sister for a 2-week stay and Bob kindly collected us from the airport on arrival, and took us to a local supermarket to purchase some provisions as we had arrived late in the evening. I cannot express how brilliant the apartment suited our needs which was like a home from home, and is about 5-7 minute walk to Paynes Beach in St. James. Bob was a brilliant host and was good enough to provide us guide sheet with a list of useful restaurants, taxis, supermarkets etc. Joan and her son came to the apartment to provide a weekly clean, and we also met the wonderful Dorothy in the neighbouring apartment. If anyone is thinking of staying in the area, I would highly recommend Morris Apartments. Bob - thank you again for looking after us, you are wonderful. It was so lovely to be able to go in and out of the apartment into the pool area and have the convenience of being able to pop back indoors if we needed anything. Bedroom very cool with air con and fans elsewhere in the apartment. Kitchen well equipped and a large fridge/freezer. Fatima very helpful, prompt with answering any whatsapp queries and allowed us to stay on a little later on our last day as we had a late flight, which was brilliant as we could use the shower before we left. The property is well maintained and has a lovely, private oasis feeling. We loved hearing various birds and seeing monkeys pass by daily. The location was great-4 min walk to the beach, a short walk to some good restaurants and a short bus/taxi ride to several more. The host, Rochelle, and her family made us feel very much at home. She was very responsive and gave us great tips for where to visit and where to eat as well as arranged taxis for us. We would definitely book Shades again!Guest review byNadiaCanada

The rooms are very well appointed and the beach is beautiful. Absolutely no complaints. I would be on a plane there now if I could be. One morning I arrived at breakfast to find an invitation from the hotel for a cocktail hour that evening, on the house. Truly generous hosts. Saint James is a lovely area, with beautiful beaches and gardens -- very relaxing and quiet, though plenty to do if you wish. We were in the Sunset Crest neighbourhood of Holetown and could walk to the beach and beach club, and to a whole range of restaurants and shops as well as a great grocery store. If you want to go further afield, there are frequent busses. The Surfside Restaurant is a great place for lunch, and Paul Owens at the Beach House and the Tides are two of Barbados' best restaurants!Guest review byKiloranCanada - 10.0

St. James is one of the 12 Parishes on the island of Barbados. It if the home of the oldest Church on the island (which I attended a beautiful church service on Sunday morning).
