- From US$147.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 197 reviewsAskiesbos was one of the best places we stayed on our 3-week trip to Botswana. We stayed in one of the river tents with the outdoor bathroom and everything was very clean, with convenient places to put your things, like soap and toiletries. The common areas are comfy, with tea and coffee and filtered/purified water available on-tap. The view over the pan-handle papyrus whilst sat on a sofa was brilliant. We spotted a handful of birds just from there! Our excursions were booked ahead of time and were not only value for money but were brilliant. If you are interested in birds, ask for Lucky as your guide. We saw over 60-bird species in just two days spent with him (panhandle tour and Tsodilo hills walk). The accommodation is a little out of the way, but fully accessible from the main road and we were able to organise a pick-up from the bus stop also. Overall, fantastic stay - highly recommend.Guest review bySara SteeleUnited Kingdom
- From US$366.17 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 168 reviewsThis was the 5th hotel we stayed in due our 3 week holiday and by far the best. The setting of the hotel is awesome and very well maintanined. The food and service was second to none, the staff were all very good. Every night there was different people arriving at the hotel which kept the evenings fresh with others holiday stories. Thanks to everyone that works in the Thamalakane River Lodge.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom

We did not stay for long, but for stocking up the twon a good amount of shops and chain stores you may also know from South Africa. Unfortunately, the croc farms seems to have closed down, the local game park was closed for rehabilitation, and the museum was closed for the weekend.Guest review byBuk - 4.0

Comfortable cabins with nice location and great potential if you want to be out of Maun but need to make sure if food is available and to pay on arrival to avoid problems with payment as staff not present on site earlyGuest review byJessicaSouth Africa - 6.0

We were disappointed, we were under the impression that we could drive around in the area and on the premises, but you have to book for game drives. The water hole is on the side for the tented camp visitors, the people camping does not really have access. The camping is a good stop over for one night, but a longer stay will is not recommended.Guest review byHengeleneSouth Africa - 8.0

For tourists going into the delta I recommend at least a day in Maun to check out the local sights and meet some of the locals. Botswana and Maun in particular see tourists come in and go straight out to the delta, so no added benefit to the residents just a constant flow of people leaving nothing of benefit to the local community Stop over in a local hotel, there are plenty to suit every ones finances, interact with the local community there is lots to do and seeGuest review byAnonymous - 2.0

When you see distance to town center for hotels in Maun, don't be deceived like I was. Town center is a ratty 4 way stop, nothing you want to be too close to. There are a few places in Maun that may be OK but you have to do your research and they are spread out.Guest review bybschranzUnited States
