I'm not a big fan of Calgary, but I go there to visit my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Otherwise, I really don't have any reason to go there. It's just another city with very little distinction. I'm more of a rural person, so take my opinion for what it's worth and how much you paid for it. I've heard Stampede is good. My daughter likes living there. There are lots of great restaurants. Lots of great steaks and better than average liquor selections in every small corner store.Guest review byMarcCanada - 10.0
Banff is a great town!
Banff is a great town! An hour away from Lake Louise and Lake Moraine and the beginning of the Icefields Parkway. Great places to eat! We ate at the Elk & Oarsman, which is changing it's name to just the Elk. Food was great, service excellent, and the view from the rooftop dinning was spectacular! It is a tourist town, but a great place to base a trip to Banff National Park.Guest review bychrisg4jcUnited States - 6.0

We were there because of an emergency landing of our plane which was traveling to California. I didn't see much of Edmonton therefore. They did say Lake Louise and Banff were only 4 hours away, so that might make it interesting for someone.Guest review byJoanna F.United States - 10.0
Lovely town with super walks along the river.
Lovely town with super walks along the river. The views to the Three Sisters was worth the stay alone. Plenty of nice places to eat at a reasonable price. Lots of decent tourist shops and galleries.Guest review byCarolUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We ate at Fiddle River- the food was excellent and the service was superb. We also had an icecream at Scoops- the range of flavors was tremendous. We went shopping and my friend found a bathing suit for $40 that is unheard of. The hot tub at the Lobstick was fantastic 👌 The kitchenette was great at the Lobstick.Guest review byLeighCanada - 4.0
Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be...
Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be managed; it's overshadowed by the mass of the fairmont Chateau hotel. Louise is one of hundreds of vividly coloured, turquoise lakes in the Alberta Rockies. If you want beauty with a little peace and quiet look elsewhere. Emerald lake, half an hour away from Louise, is beautiful ad attracts fewer visitors. Peyto lake, see photo, on the Icefield Parkway is perhaps the most dramatic (hint: don't turn right into the parking but continue straight on to the upper parking and avoid a strenuous climb uphill on foot). Accommodation at Lake Loise is expensive. Consider staying in Banff or Golden and driving into the area. Parks Canada has useful info about shuttle service and parking.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The hotel and room was quiet, clean and comfortable beds.
The hotel and room was quiet, clean and comfortable beds. For guests with EV and Plug in Hybrid vehicles there are no on-site plug in stations for overnight charging. The Hotel is close to restaurants and gas stations. I will stay there again when passing through Hinton.Guest review byDovell - 10.0

We used Leduc as a staging area, before flying home from the Edmonton airport, which is also a very nice airport, with lots of amenities. In that respect, Leduc is full of hotels, restaurants, etc., I.e. all the amenities you may want or need, before driving or flying to your next or final destination. Also, if you rented a vehicle for your trip, you can fill the gas tank up at a reasonable price at Costco or some of the gas stations near the airport (just look on GasBuddy) before returning your rental vehicle.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States - 10.0

Red Deer is a beautiful place to visit with lots of treed parks, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rec-centres, historic downtown and plenty of shopping. It is close to Sylvan Lake and Lacombe for added adventure and exploring.Guest review byJodyCanada - 10.0
