Lunenburg is an historic fishing town on the waterfront...
Lunenburg is an historic fishing town on the waterfront settled in the 1700s. It's worth a visit, and not too far from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Walk around the hilly streets for a self-guided tour, as there are signs in front of churches and on several street corners describing the history.Guest review bySallyUnited States - 10.0
Hosts were excellent. Water sports were very accessible.
Hosts were excellent. Water sports were very accessible. Lounge chairs were very comfortable. Several restaurants in the area were close and good. Beaches in the area are amoung the best in Nova Scotia. The beach at the property was good. My wife and I thoroughly ourselves.Guest review byWaltCanada - 10.0
Peggy's Cove is stunningly beautiful!
Peggy's Cove is stunningly beautiful! The lighthouse on the rocks is different than any we've seen. Would highly recommend visiting at sunset and again in the morning as we did. We were blessed with beautiful weather which made it even better.Guest review byRogerUnited States - 10.0

Shelburne is the prettiest town along Nova Scotia's south shore with a beautifully maintained historic waterfront. It is much smaller than Lunenburg but quieter and better located for visiting all the South Shore, most everything within an hour's drive: other towns and villages, sandy beaches, great seafood. Cooper's Inn is among the very best historic B&B's we have stayed at. Charlotte Lane Cafe is quite small but the food is superb.Guest review byBrianCanada - 10.0
Rebecca's restaurant was great but busy.
Rebecca's restaurant was great but busy. Fun area to walk around and the museum was interesting=a lot of history and my Uncle George used to live next door to the museum and built sailboats right across the street back in the 1960's. Area is known for sailboat building and has a long history connected to the sea. Shopping was great for my wife while I visited the boatyard.Guest review bymcvay - 2.0

The place was advertised as 1 minute to the beach - it actually took 20 minutes by car. The place was advertised as serving breakfast - if you wanted to have breakfast you had to go off property across the bridge to as small but very good independent restaurant. The place was described as scenic - yes it was on the Mersey river but right on a main road and across the road from a working dockyard. The photo of one of the rooms on your website looked bright and cheerful - ours was dark and dingy - if you closed the curtains when you were in your room it was dark and the only source apart from the light in the bathroom was one small bedside light on a bedside table. The placed was a very dated dump.Guest review byHelenCanada - 10.0
Beautiful scenic town .
Beautiful scenic town . The Shore Club was the highlight of my trip to see Matt Mays in concert. We also ate there and the steak and seafood was absolutely delicious. The only thing I did not like was the availability of taxis in the area . Would have been nice to cab to and from the Shore ClubGuest review byJoel - 10.0
Small fishing village.
Small fishing village. Good central location for exploring Cape Sable Island. Nice boardwalk out to the wharf- but it’s not well marked ( behind the city hall). The only restaurant did not appear to be open. Dining options in nearby Barrington- just across the causeway.Guest review byRobinson - 8.0

I came for the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, and stayed 3 nights. Food at restaurants was good. More restaurants should be open for early breakfast, Loved the shuttle service for the Festival. Grand Banker's lobster roll was delicious. Fish and chips at the Dockside were great.Guest review byGunn - 6.0
Shelburne is rather a mixed bag.
Shelburne is rather a mixed bag. Waterfront is interesting and generally attractive. Some of the old houses in town have been very well restored, others are badly in need of repair. Major commercial operations are fortunately out of town, but still conveniently located. The only buildings out of character are the banks - as usual in the Maritimes. The local town council and Chamber of Commerce need to get their acts together. Shelburne could be as attractive and dynamic as St Andrews in New Brunswick!!Guest review byJohnCanada
