We had no room service after the first night ......

We had no room service after the first night ......disappointed. The general room maintenance was mediocre at best. The tub drain was defective, the window screens were dirty and one window seal was broken. The window looked dirty as a result. The wall area above the tub tile was dirty. The room clock was unplugged and did not work when plugged in. The carpets needed cleaning.

The north end of Penticton, has wonderful walking paths along the lake and beautiful views up the lake. The paths have lots of benches along them for enjoying various views. The main downtown is easily walkable and there are some interesting shops on Main Street and Front Street. Petrasek Bakery has marvellous pastries and coffee. The used bookstore in the 200 block is one of the best ever!

Oliver is a small working town not a tourist town.

Oliver is a small working town not a tourist town. Typical small interior BC town. Great location for touring the wineries in the lower Okanagan. Great many, very good wineries nearby, 5 to 10 minutes drive. Check out Black Sage road. Wineries to visit, Domaine Artema, Bartier bros, Church and State, Burrowing Owl, See Ya Later Ranch (OK Falls) and dozen others. 15 minutes to Osoyoos, 30 minutes to Penticton. Nice little lake and park. Quiet as it closes up early, 9 pm. Good basic diners and couple pubs. Great, very authentic Mexican cantina.

The town is just 5 to 7 miles north of Penticton and 35-40 minutes south of Kelowna. It is convenient, especially to those wanting to be in close proximity to Penticton. There are several wineries close to Summerland and fruit and vegetables stands ( of course the latter in the summer months). Summerland also has bike trails that enable one to ride to ODore Lake and Princeton. Those wanting to ride horses will also enjoy (and share) the bike trail that runs parallel to the Kettle Valley rail.

Perfect for a one night stop over en route to the Kootenays from the Lower Mainland. Onsite breakfast and dinner meant we didn't have to try to trailer a boat to another location to eat. Very good value.

Manning Park is a great mountain park.

Manning Park is a great mountain park. I enjoyed walking around, taking pictures of the Fall colors but also watching the clouds rolling up and down the mountains while on this side of the window sipping a nice hot chocolate. In the Winter the snowshoeing tracks are among my very favorites. Last but not least the restaurant offered both good food and service. Will be back soon!

Princeton is really small and it's seems like most restaurants close at like 8-9pm but the chevron gas station is 24hrs if you need a snacky. There's an A+W, DQ, and Subway for fast food. Lots of off-road adventures, hiking and fishing to be had if you're into that. The "Whipsaw" is the best serious 4x4 trail. You could check out Coalmont and the ghost town "granite city" and Tullameen. You can drive to Summerland on a dirt road too

Naramata is better than Napa Valley in California.

Naramata is better than Napa Valley in California. In addition to wineries there are excellent restaurants with beautiful views. While Napa may have better wines, especially reds, only Naramata has the scenery and many things to see and do other than eat and drink. Kelowna and Oliver are not far away and these also have great restaurants and wineries to visit. The only disadvantage to Naramata is the lack of good restaurants that are open in the evenings, Monday through Wednesday, although Penticton restaurants are open.

We have stayed here before, always enjoy it.

We have stayed here before, always enjoy it. Rooms are clean and comfortable, beautiful scenery from the deck. Discounted rate for golf when you stay and play which is an added feature, golf course is in great shape. Enjoyed the continental breakfast, would be nice if it was extended to 10:00AM Would like to see a hand rail put in the shower/bathtub to grab onto when stepping in and out for safety Enjoyed the stay as always, can’t wait to come back

    The downtown Home Hardware Store.

The downtown Home Hardware Store. This store is something from the long past, a half upper floor and a lower floor which has been in the hands of two families for well over 70 years. You need to spend a few hours just taking in what are REAL hardware store should offer--everything ever needed and more! It is unique and a solid family run store with very helpful employees, many likely over 65. Young or old, they have so much knowledge that you can easily spend 20 minutes just talking to them, the atmosphere is so relaxed. You can see, they love working there. It is a must see location.
