Leamington is a great area.
Leamington is a great area. Lots of farm so there is a lot of fresh produce daily so the foods from the restaurants were fresh. Public transportation is limited but the town/lakeside view is walkable. The ferry to Pelee Island requires you to book well in advance to secure your vehicle, but you can also buy tickets for same day visits. The area is great for the while family.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Leamington is a lovely community.
Leamington is a lovely community. What we learned in our stay is that there are many migrant workers from Mexico so many of our Ontario visitors work in retail and the service industry and speak Spanish. As a result, we learned that Leamington has the "BEST' authentic Mexican food. We went for a team dinner and let me tell you, it was an amazing meal at Hot Tacos Restaurant. Truly authentic food in Leamington. We also had the opportunity to experience the beach. Clean and lots of sandbars for the children to enjoy. Leamington also has a ferry to Pelee Island and although we did not get to experience this excursion, it is reasonably priced and gives you the option of taking your car, bi-cycle or walking onto the ferry for a day of adventure. Leaving at 10 and returning at 4. Worth checking out next time we go in this direction.Guest review byC RobertsCanada - 6.0
Leamington has the wonderful nature preserve of Point Pelee...
Leamington has the wonderful nature preserve of Point Pelee National Park and Pelee Island. There are many wineries and lavender farms in the area. In the autumn you csn visit Jack Miner's Bird sanctuary in nearby Kingsville and observe migrating geese on the flyway south to warmer climes. There is a strong Mexican presence in the town of Leamington which has spawned GREAT Mexican restaurants.Guest review byKnighton
