This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. I knew it was nice when I booked it, but it was even better than I thought. The whole experience of walking around the monastery, checking out the museum, the comfort and cleanliness of the room and bed (the bed is a 100/10), the breakfast, and the friendly staff, made my stay memorable. I absolutely loved it!

Quebec City is a beautiful and unique travel destination...

Quebec City is a beautiful and unique travel destination rich in history. I enjoyed a walking tour that helped orient me in the area, but I was a bit disappointed as the tour guide didn't always provide accurate information about Quebec's history or its indigenous population. For example, Christopher Columbus never set foot in Canada, never mind Quebec. After a few days, I found myself wishing I had rented a car to explore areas outside of downtown. I wanted to see more than just the main sights. While bus tours cover some attractions, they tend to focus on the most popular spots, which can feel a bit touristy and lacking in authenticity. Like many high-traffic tourist areas, Quebec City has an over abundance of souvenir shops and overpriced stores. I also recommend avoiding daytime visits when cruise ships are in port; as downtown gets overcrowded, reminiscent of a jam packed day at Disneyland. Overall, the city's charm and beauty do make it worth a visit.

    Beautiful place.

Beautiful place. We can see the cathedral in front and the st Laurence river in back. Would have preferred a room facing the river instead of one facing the parking lot. The room was quiet. We stayed only one night as our Congress was the next morning. If it hadn’t been for the Congress would have slept in later! The bed was very confortable

I loved the greenery and the tranquility of the neighborhood. Access to the neighborhood is very easy. Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Canyon Sainte-Anne, l'Île-d'Orléans are near. We advise you to go to the restaurant La Grange Brasserie italienne where the service and food are amazing!!!! If you want to eat a great ice cream with Monna & filles. The only thing that's a bit difficult is walking; there aren't any wide sidewalks. You have to be very careful with passing cars.

The location was excellent for the purpose of our trip but the lack of food service on site was disappointing and required a 15 minute drive to the nearest restaurant. Unfortunately the place is in need of repair and renovation. At present I would say it is only 'basic'.

The place and view were AMAZING!

The place and view were AMAZING! I loved the location- VERY CLOSE to the lake. The resort itself was situated on the lake, and have numerous activities that were included with your stay. My favorite; kayaking on the lake-super breath-taking. Especially with each hotel room overlooking the Laurentian Mountains! I would say however; that we had to change our rooms once during the stay- the light would not turn off, and the chargers did not work, the other hotel room worked fine- the staff were super accommodating! Overall, the resort had so much to do- perfect for a 2-3 night holiday!

We stayed in the old city area.

We stayed in the old city area. It took us 5 hours from Lincoln by car to get there through beautiful foliage. After checking in to our hotel we went for a guided tour of the Fairmont Chateau Castle Hotel. We parked our car at the hotel. We then did the hop on/hop off red bus tour but did not get off at any of the 18 stops but enjoyed seeing the city from the bus. It was a great way to get a feel of the city. The 2nd day we did a walking tour of the old city which was fascinating. We are elderly but still able to go up and down hills and stairs. It was a total of 6 miles on the tour and the tour starting point was 3 walking miles away from our hotel. We highly recommend all the tours we did. It was worth the ride. It is not easy to get around by car in the old city but there are lots of car parking areas. We had dinner at the Royal William Hotel where we stayed for the one night. I highly recommend the Hotel which was at a reasonable price and located near the old city.

The reason justifying a trip to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is...

The reason justifying a trip to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is first and foremost a visit to the shrine and basilica. I went there to do a weekend retreat and and the sanctuary does have chapels where one can retire to contemplate and meditate. But if you are looking for entertainment and activities, beware! The village feels a little rough round the edges and many properties look unkempt. That being said there’s a magnificent jetty that’s just been built where one can walk and get to admire the St. Lawrence river in all of its majesty. Not to be missed. To sum it up: Thumbs up but combined with a visit to Quebec City.
