So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. Victoria offers a plethora of options and a beautiful backdrop for all. As a group of women we spent time rummaging through an antique and thrift store, visited a trendy market and experienced a “Scottish high tea”. Something for everyone! Always the downside to any large city is the traffic but with some patience and a good navigator traversing the city is very doable…and there are many tour buses that offer the best option.Guest review byMaxineCanada - 8.0

Port Renfrew is a charming little fishing village on the west coast. I’ve visited twice now and absolutely love its character and natural beauty. That said, it’s important for visitors to know that amenities are limited—stores and restaurants close early, so planning ahead is essential. What I enjoy most is the quiet simplicity of the area, but if you’re looking for a destination full of conveniences and entertainment, this may not be the place for you. On the other hand, I can see a small bike or scooter rental shop doing very well here—it would be a wonderful addition to the village.Guest review byKimberlyCanada - 10.0
We only spent one day in Sidney, BC.
We only spent one day in Sidney, BC. Brunch at Five & Dime, great food, very friendly servers, clean place. Visited John Dean Provincial Park, the trails were well marked and full of all kinds of mushrooms, very fun and interesting. Had coffee at The Serious Cafe, good coffee. Walked to Lochside Waterfront Park, didn't get to see much stores since most of them were closed at 5pm. Visited DGD Gift store, small store with a good collection of gifts. The part of Sidney we saw is clean, peaceful and safe.Guest review byBettyCanada - 10.0
Saanichton seems like a nice place.
Saanichton seems like a nice place. We stayed at Motel 6 because it was right near the hospital, where my daughter was going to have surgery. There was a restaurant (White Spot) close by. There was a pharmacy and a food store quite close.Guest review bySusanCanada - 10.0

We stayed one night after landing on the island from Vancouver ferry. It was easy to find and the rooms clean and spacious. There was a pool and hot tub available alongside the spa. Staff were very helpful and friendly and our meal at the restaurant full of local produce. It was a great stay and perfect if you wanted to take the ferry to Mill BayGuest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Rural delight: only two eateries in area : Shirley Delicious and in nearby Jordan River, Cold Shoulder Cafe (in Jordan River.) If cooking, get supplies in nearby Sooke or at the Shirley farm markets (check dates, time). Or get carry out in town (Sooke). Venerable area resort Point no Point is not serving guests but you can order carrier in advance or bring from Sooke. Could not cook at inn so had large lunch out and snacked for dinner in inn patio. Shirley is a tight knit community, rural, super friendly. Terrific (and varied) beaches, convenient for excursions around the island, easy to get around. Favorite activities: hiking to and exploring beaches, whale watching, kayaking, visiting farm markets in Shirley and Sooke, visiting artisans, local art shop, and more. For two gnarly hikes, hired a guide…great idea for dolor senior traveler.Guest review byLynnUnited States - 10.0

The harbour area was great, the architecture was beautiful to look at and the parks are gorgeous. We did a whale watching tour and saw many different whales and other wildlife- it was superb. Also it’s a very walkable city, we didn’t use our vehicle as we like to experience and see more on foot.Guest review byMaryCanada - 8.0
Port Renfrew is really Wild.
Port Renfrew is really Wild. You feel like you are at the end of the earth.. which you are. There is no going father in BC on this road. They are a close knit community and watch out for each other.. which is good and 'a little too much'. Not quite as friendly as other Vancouver Island towns but it sure is isolated... Be prepared for looooooong winding Roads, cold weather and rain. Some good eats but nothing on the water. Worth a visit and I do admire the people who live there! Thank you PR for the stay!Guest review byMamieCanada - 10.0

Sidney is just a delightful town with a lovely shoreline and easy walking areas. The Beacon Inn is a perfect accommodation for staying in Sidney. It’s warm, friendly and so comfortable as a destination. Great restaurants and breweries are about the town and we enjoyed them tremendously. We will certainly visit again but stay longer to relax and enjoy more of its’ amenities and natural surroundings.Guest review byKarenUnited States
