It was so hot out they offered us water bottles every time we passed the desk. Even for our two dogs! Who they treated like royalty with a mat & dog bowls in the room. The free mini bar was awesome! We were so hot when we arrived, it was awesome to have cold water, juice & beer in the room to drink. We stayed in Basel for a week, using it as a transit point for traveling to other cities in the area: Colmar, Luzerne, and Freiburg. Basel itself has easily enough to see for three full days: interesting museums, beautiful architecture, cathedrals, dining, etc. If you stay for more than a day you get a Basil Pass which allows you to use public transit for free.
