We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t enough time.
We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t enough time. I would highly recommend the transportation museum-it’s more like a destination. It’s also free with the Swiss Travel pass. Don’t miss the Lion Monument and Glacier Park that is next to it. Be sure to take a boat ride to relax and enjoy Lake Lucerne and visit Mt. Rigi along the way. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance for Mt. Pilatus due to weather-use the weather cams to check out weather at the top of the mountains. The Military Fortress is also a fascinating place to see and marvel at the location in which it was constructed, it might be chilly for some, but they provide coats if needed. Beautiful town and lots of activities to do. We enjoyed in Trubsee and Furenalp. We regret of staying only for 2 days. Best to stay at least 5 days or a week. Good food everywhere. Zug is a modern town that relies on international business and international visitors... Generally people are friendly and very family orientated, you may occasionally find the odd old 'grumpy' , wealthy swiss person that will correct your German grammar or look down their nose at you... But apart from this it's hard to fault this lakeside town. The old town is stunning and the restaurants and bars are truly special. The lake is stunning and the mountainous backdrop is truly beautiful. I love Einsiedeln,because it is such a lovely village with the Mountains and SIHLSEE. It has beautiful little shops, good restaurants and coffee places with their own roastery. The only problem is with Taxi cars: none available at the centralstation,when one arrives by train. How come?? My favourite place was the MONASTERY, walking around through KLOSTERWALD and the horses there.Another nice walk to SIHLSEE. There is MIGROS with affordable food to buy and their restaurant,which serves good meals. Good connections by train and bus. Stoos is a very charismatic small village in the Swiss alps. You get their only with the steepest funicular of the world, no cars in the village. During the summer season this village only attracts people for the famous (and very overcrowded by Instagrammers and Tiktokkers) Stoos ridge hike. It is amazing and has great views but you walk in line the whole way unless you are willing to really take the 1st chairlift up there. This city is a short distance from Lucerne.
This city is a short distance from Lucerne. There are frequent trains that go to Lucerne and further into Unterwalden. The main attraction in Hergiswill is the glass works and its museum and restaurant. There is a boat that stops there. One of its benefits is hotels that cost less than Lucerne Hotels and offer great views of the Lake. Consider it a suburb of Lucerne.Guest review byRamon
