- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,771 reviewsMy name is Michael Lucas, Tatyana is my wife, we came to the hotel from Miami to celebrate a New Year's Eve 2023. We had an unbelievable time. Nicolas Muller - the hotel's food and beverage manager, organized for the guest's of the hotel a fantastic, high quality New Year's Eve party in the rooftop hotel restaurant overlooking the magnificent lake Neuchatel! Though we did not have a reservation for the New Year's Eve celebration which had all been sold out, he managed to accommodate us as well. Nicolas Muller's professionalism has no limits or boundaries, Nicolas is a detail-oriented high-professional with top skills in hospitality management. He can make people happy even in unpredictable situations. Thank you Nicolas, you made us happy on the New Year's Eve 2023 and you make this hotel a better place and we will by all means come back to your hotel again to experience a high level food and beverage service. - From $256.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 3,069 reviewsBeautiful old-style hotel with big nicely-furnished rooms, very comfy beds, spacious bathroom. The free parking was much appreciated. We did not try the restaurant, but it looked very elegant. Breakfast was bountiful, both cold and warm choices, several types of bread and pastry. And obviously, last but not least, the fantastic thermal water pools (at the Centre Thermal) which can be accessed directly from the hotel through a corridor and are included in the room price during the whole stay. We had a great time and will definitely be back again.Guest review byMariaSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 481 reviewsEverything. It's a truly cute historic hotel in a beautiful gorge I would never have found on my own. The rooms are nice, in a sort of historic-french decor. Breakfast is fantastic, nicely set, French bread, coffee to order, organic local yogurt, etc. Peaceful and quiet, a bucolic little river flowing by, walking trails, trees... it is all that it seems and more. Oh and fresh trout for dinner. What the French can do with a little butter, flour, lemon, and salt and pepper is amazing.Guest review byJefferyUnited States
- From $298.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 320 reviewsOne of my favorite hotel stays ever. The hotel itself is gorgeous - out of a fairytale. The staff was amazing. The Salavaux/Vully area is so special. We rented a vespa from the hotel and drove around the countryside - and the hotel packed us a picnic lunch of cheese, ham, bread and wine. The staff helped us find the best wineries nearby. We had an incredible dinner at the hotel our first night. I couldn't say enough amazing things about our stay here.Guest review byKristinUnited States

Private terrace was a huge plus for morning coffee. Great craft soaps/shampoo. I look forward to staying at the Adler again!Guest review byChristianUnited States

Neuchatel offers a tourist pass with free entry to many attractions in the canton and free public transport. Note that many places are closed on Sundays and/or Mondays. We made the most of the sunshine by taking a train to Buttes and walking in the mountains above the chairlift (included in the tourist pass), with fabulous views over the lake, the Jura and the distant Alps. We also enjoyed a morning boat trip and a peaceful walk through protected marshland at St Blaise. We loved the food in Himalaya Momo.Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It's a very attractive little lakeside town with a medieval centre, including intact and walkable fortification wall, and lots of nice places to eat. It is well-connected transport-wise for visits to nearby attractions like the roman ruins in Avenches or the (really well-worth visiting) 12th century abbey in Payerne. Lake boats ply daily (in summer) to Neuchatel.Guest review byMartinSwitzerland - 10.0

Fantastic style and spacious rooms with an extremely comfortable bed. Due to the proximity to the highway, quick and easy to find. Strongly recommended, especially for people on a longer trip seeking a great stopover. The restaurant is closed on the weekend I was told when I arrived, but there are alternatives nearby.Guest review byChristinaGermany - 10.0

Lovely town on the side of the lake with good shops, restaurants and some historical sights. Beware it is very hilly away from lakeside but public transport is very good. Good location from which to explore the area by road or rail (but rail is expensive). Cities such as Bern and Lausanne are just under an hour away.Guest review byJeremyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

In summer Neuchâtel clearly has a North-Italian atmosphere to me, originating from the old town buildings, the vibes in the harbour and even home-made icecream everywhere! Prices are better than other Swiss lakeside cities, and the Neuchâtel Tourist Card makes it easy to get around and profit from sights or lake cruises.Guest review byWolfgangSwitzerland
