The breakfast hours were also convenient. The room had everything we needed—clean, spacious, and comfortable. The spa was fantastic, very relaxing, and open during convenient hours. On our last day, we wanted to visit the spa earlier, and they kindly arranged it for us. The location was excellent, and since we visited at the end of September, it wasn’t too crowded. I think Locarno is going to be one of the new tourist...
I think Locarno is going to be one of the new tourist hotspots in the next decade. This spot is beautiful. Amazing lakeside retreat on the alps - the views are not comparable to anything I have ever seen. I loved that it was less crowded than most lakeside European cities I have been to - and think this is a great stop if you are in the Como/Milan area. 10/10 recommend for some relaxation, rejuvenation, and a vacation you won't forget.Guest review byDodd - 10.0

Losone is the underrated, non-touristy part of Ascona and...
Losone is the underrated, non-touristy part of Ascona and Locarno. It is, therefore, where many residents live because it is quiet, with great access to the Maggia river. The best tip is to walk along the river. It is very well connected by bus, so if you want an area that is safe but above all affordable, then this is the area to stay. Ascona is expensive for what is literally a 5 minute bus ride away. There are a lot of hiking routes from Tegna or from places which can be reached easily by bus or train within 30 minutes from Tegna. I do not like to stay in cities when I go for hiking. Probably the best place to explore the Ticino area. There are many sights in Lucarno and others are within 30 minutes by car (Bellinzona, Ascona, Isole di Brissago, Valle Verzasca). Those who like the Alps are 50 minutes away by cable car to Robieia, where they can spend the whole day in the area of high mountain lakes. Beautiful lakeside location with largely pedestrianized tourist area in old town. Amazing lakeside lido with excellent indoor and outdoor pools, slides and diving boards. Ascona is really beautiful and has lots of options for...
Ascona is really beautiful and has lots of options for travelers, especially in the summer months. Visitors can walk around the city and see museums (the Museo Comunale d'Arte Moderna and Museo San Materno have really excellent collections!), listen to music and have a meal or a drink at any number of places in the main piazza, hang out at the bagno pubblico or lido, or take a short but to Locarno. I stayed during the Locarno Film Festival and really enjoyed how relaxed Ascona felt and less busy compared to Locarno during this particular period. It's for relaxing, not busy, use the place as a starting point to the different valleys...and if you have time, take the "expresstrain (do not get off for picking flowers...)" for a nice travel to Domodossola. A place not to be missed. Just one recommendation: Go there out of Summerseason (mid June to end August) it will simple be to hot....
