Beautiful quaint town with lots to see. If you don’t like crowds it won’t be for you. Costly to eat, however supermarkets are plenty and offer reasonable value. Beautiful town, so clean and everyone really welcoming and friendly. Easy to get around on buses and trains. Mount Pilatus is a very worthwhile trip with fantastic views. Take the funicular up to the hotel Gütsch and have a drink or meal looking down over Lucern, followed by a stroll in the woods. Booked room with a mountain view. However, on reaching the property, upgraded to Lake view at a cost of CHF 20 per day. Room had amazing view of Lake and hills. Property is located in Weggis and is easily accessible from Boat and bus ( Frequency of 30mins to 60mins). Town is very peaceful and one can enjoy beautiful walk around the lake. Lucern is a beautiful city with so much to do and see. The scenery is stunning the day trips you can do are limitless & It’s that good it would be an amazing place to live. Visit the lake and the many day bars along the foreshore at sunset for a drink. You don’t normally associate Switzerland with amazing food however the seafood & the fresh meat were of the highest quality. We also visited Felsenegg Restaurant almost next to the Liv Appartments and this unassuming restaurant was as good as any restaurant anywhere in the world. The views of the mountains around the lake are fantastic. We ate in our hotel on both nights of our stay and the food and wine were fabulous. You can walk alongside the lake and there are several places to eat. We visited Mount Rigi which was busy but the 360 view at the top was wonderful.
