Located in the original old town of Scuol Hotel Conrad is so quaint and centralized. There was the Church steeple, original 17th century buildings and the mountains with gondola from our balcony. Our Swiss decorated room (with Swiss cleanliness standards) had a small kitchen great for a light dinner, tea, and wine! The Conrad restaurant was open all day with a creative Chef. Breakfast (included) was amazing with as much wonderfully individualized prepared coffee.The ample buffet included freshly baked bread and sweets from their kitchen. Meats, local cheeses and yogurt, juices-this was by far our best breakfast throughout this 6 weeks in Europe.Hotel Conrad provided free regional bus and train passes. We could walk everyone, day hikes, or go to the 5* spa/mineral baths. The city bus was only a few cobblestone streets away and took it to smaller villages, plus the train to St. Moritz for a day with this pass. We travel at least 6 weeks annually since our first trip to Switzerland in 1972. Hotel Scuol is great for families, couples, and individuals. We met travelers from Switzerland, and France. The staff takes care of you as if you were special family guests. They speak to you kindly in your first language. They (Matilde!)remember your special decaf coffee orders and share their local knowledge. Have and will continue to sing their praises. Sent is an interesting mosaic.
Sent is an interesting mosaic. It is a small village situated on a high terrace above the En River in the Lower Engagin region. Its threads include farmers, artists/artisans, families, retirees and visitors. The tourist economy supports the village but doesn't define it; that's not always the case in Swiss mountain towns. nice base for walks in the area. Walking around Scuol involves little climbing and descending. It is recommended to take the elevator up and then walk to Prui. This is also a very easy gentle descent, feasible for all types of hikers. For the challenge you go from Prui to Ftan, but we took the chairlift. There are plenty of options for eating out in the center of Scuol. However, restaurants do not open until 6 p.m. and reservations are recommended.Guest review byC.WNetherlands
