Pucon is great, I spend ~6 months there last year.
Pucon is great, I spend ~6 months there last year. Food is not consistently great but Trawen never disappoints. Try your sopaipilla with queso and merken! Walk a bit out of the center to a frutería and load up on berries and other great produce in the summer. Souvenirs/artesanía are better outside of town (and further south). Pucon is an excellent place to plan a short visit to. Driving off Rte 5 (the main spine road of Chile) we nearly stopped at Villarica but were very pleased that we had pressed on to see what Pucon was like. Both are great towns but we are glad we stayed in Pucon. The beach on the lake was lovely and there are lots of lively restaurants and bars in the small town.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom
