Amazing boutique-like hotel in Lastarria. Spacious rooms, super friendly staff. In front of the hotel, there are street sellers, and the street is a vibrant place with very good restaurants and wine bars. Lots of people all day and night, but that does not mean you will not have good sleep: the room is silent and the bed is super comfortable.

This is a safe location. I stay at Hiltons but a visitor was murdered when refusing to give his cell phone on a walk near the Hilton. Left government is allowing gangs to come in from ven and other places. Keep your head up.

What a beautiful property. We loved relaxing by the fire pit with a glass of wine at night and waking up to a fresh & extensive breakfast spread. The quality of nearby restaurants varies pretty widely, so it was nice to have the dinner option in the hotel as well. The unique, Gaudi-inspired design of the property was gorgeous, but it was the gardens that really blew me away. I recommend joining the free guided hike, but note that it takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours if you need to check out that day. While short, parts were strenuous & it is in Spanish. The area caters to local travelers but was one of our favorite stops in our 2 week trip around central & northern Chile. The hotel is about 1 1/2 hours from the hot springs, which was a stunning & slightly terrifying drive.

I arrived in Santiago from several days in the dormitory at Portillo where I got sick. I also injured my back and was in tremendous pain. On top of all that, my bus reservation kept getting canceled because the road to Mendoza was closed due to snow. Everything should have been a disaster. But it was not. The apartment was very comfortable and a very cozy place to rest while I waited for the road to open. I never met German, but he was a great host and very responsive and flexible. But his housekeeper Marie and her husband the building doorman David really saved me. They helped me get my huge snowboarding bag and my other bags to the bus station and waited there with me until the bus arrived. David negotiated the transport of my additional bags with the driver and got them in the luggage compartment. I was no longer sick, but I was in a lot of pain and don't think I could have done it on my own. I was very lucky to have booked this place. I highly recommend Kaori Express Sushi a block away. They delivered most of my meals while I was sick and were also a big help. The neighborhood around Terminal Sur is no Bella Vista. But I never felt unsafe there despite being in a vulnerable situation. I was a little sad to leave the apartment. Great internet!

a truly unforgettable trip filled with adventure, warm hospitality, and natural beauty. You were especially impressed by the incredible service provided by the guides—Amada, Jackson, and Lucas, who made your waterfall tour, rafting, and canopy adventures both exciting and memorable. Staying in the cozy and scenic Ríos cabins enhanced your visit, and the resort's amenities, especially the restaurant, exceeded your expectations. The staff's friendliness and accommodating nature made you feel completely at home, leaving you eager to return and share the experience with friends and family.

I had a couple of overnights in Santiago before flying to Easter Island and Punta Arenas, respectively. I wasn’t doing any sightseeing in Santiago, I just wanted a nice room, close to the airport so I could rest for the night and not worry about traffic to the airport in the morning. The hotel offers free shuttle, good shower, comfy bed, wi-fi… I would definitely stay there again.

I couldn't get the official exchange rate anywhere inside or outside of Chile. I could only get 55% of the official rate. Send yourself money via Western Union which is 95%. The people are great, the food is good, but the country is obviously going through difficult times so be wary of your personal safety (pickpockets). Skip Plaza de Armas but go to the markets, and the museum of human rights. St Lucia Hill was good but very crowded. Empanadas are cheap and good but restaurants in Tabalaba were very pricey by Australian standards.

Nobody I know likes Santiago or feels safe in Santiago. In my opinion, there is nothing to do in Santiago. Lastarria is a fun spot to stay. If you can get a view of the mountains that is a good thing. Uber is very expensive.

Santiago is an amazing city.

Santiago is an amazing city. And if you are a skier or snowboarder, this is an excellent place to come. if you stay in the Los Condes area, you are right at the base of the Andes and have access to several snow resorts, such as La Parva, and Valle Nevado. There's also a lot of activities, shopping, and dinning options all around. Vina del Mar and the Chilean wine country are also within a relatively short distance. Santoago Chile is well worth the trip, and a low budget option at that, as it is lower-cost option than other snow destination in South America. Keep in mind that there are earthquakes here, and the fact that the snow season here (June to October) is reverse of what it is on the Northern hemisphere.
