Everything! This is one of those places were you will understand why it has an average rating close to 10. Location is nice and quiet, everything is very clean, bed was the most comfortable one in a two month trip. Staff was really friendly, the overall atmosphere is just great. Great Chinese breakfast.

Amazing experience! Room was spacious while still feeling cozy, and outfitted with great decor. Our host was phenomenal, going to the lengths of organising mopeds for us to use around the town, delivering coffee to our room, and giving us discounts on local attractions, not to mention organised transport to and from the train station. The staff is great. Prior to my arrival, communication was smooth—Melody speaks excellent English and provided all the information I needed about activities in Guilin. During my stay, Ms. Bai was incredibly kind. Despite her limited English, we managed to communicate easily with translation apps. She helped me find a nearby restaurant and we even shared a pleasant conversation over tea. The hotel’s facilities are modern, and my room had everything I needed. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, which could be inconvenient depending on your plans in Guilin. However, this is something you can easily see on the map before booking, so it wasn’t a surprise. Plus, the distance is compensated by mountain views and the peaceful surroundings. For me, it was completely worth it—after long days of exploring, the tranquility of the hotel and the nearby dining options made it the perfect place to relax.

Location is very idyllic and not too far away from Guilin. It only takes 15 minutes to get there. There is an in-house restaurant with excellent food! Also other restaurants close by. Owner helped us book a group tour to the rice terraces (for just 268 RMB per person), and also a private tour to Yangshuo and Xingping. Very good service!

This is our 2nd stay at the Apsara plus 1 stay at the neighbouring sister hotel Moondance. It's ideal for hiking, biking, e-biking, rafting, rock climbing, and rafting ........... Check-in was easy, just hand in the passports/ID and they'll bring them back to you when registered, the public area has a cosy fireplace, a small bar and a restaurant area. Tea and coffee are on hand all day, and afternoon snacks are provided as well. The restaurant food is mostly Chinese but tasty and a few other bits such as chicken popcorn and chips for the kids. Breakfast is fine with cereals, toast, a range of hot foods, eggs and noodle soups. The pool is open all year and the brave in winter can take a dip! there is outdoor seating overlooking the river and a rainproof gazebo in wet weather. The rooms are spacious and rustic. the beds are clean and comfortable with aircon for hot and cold as needed. Some rooms are suitable for families singles couples and friends so plenty of choices. Tips - contact the hotel for we chat connections and they can be super helpful and cater for your needs. free bikes are on hand and the hotel can help with a range of activities, many an easy cycle or within an hours walk. hiking the back trails along the rivers and karst is easy and well worth it but download apps to your phone such as MapsMe, Locus Map and A Map have most of the paths marked between them. The nearest train station is Yangshuo 2h30m ish from Guangzhou and 4-5h30m from Wuhan and the airport at Guilin. The hotel can arrange transfers.

    Richard and his staffs are amazing. The view from our rooms (pool and lily pond facing) is lovely. Even though there are no lilies in the pond as it is winter, the mountain view from our rooms is just magnificent! We enjoyed the relaxing and informative hourlong complimentary tea appreciation session --- came complete with fruits and snacks :). The hotel provides good choices of complimentary breakfast sets, ranging from local 桂林米粉 to toasts and waffles. Dinner is tasty and reasonably priced. Richard is very accommodating, allowing us to use the restaurant to play our boardgames after dinner, serving us complimentary free flow tea throughout our game and even help us cut fruits. Even though the hotel is not in the heart of city, it is very convenient to travel to city (cab ride is only ~US$2 to the city). We actually like the fact that it is not located in the city as it is more relaxing and the view is better. The hotel is right across a nice cafe, 5 mins walk from a strawberry picking farm and walking distance to bamboo rafting jetty. The hotel also provide scooter rental. Tea Cozy Hotel staffs give very good sightseeing and activities advices and helped us book the paid ones at a discount. I like the fact that they do not push sale on paid activities, instead they would actually advised us to do free sightseeing (amazing ones like the 3 bridges) that are more suitable for the weather. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Tea Cozy Hotel.

    I stayed at the Zen Hotel for two nights and had the most wonderful experience. The hotel is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty—overlooking majestic mountains and endless pink lotus fields. My room was spotlessly clean, and the view from the window was simply awe-inspiring. As a solo female traveler, I deeply appreciated the warm and attentive staff. A special thank you goes to Karlie, who made my stay truly special. On her day off, she generously offered to show me around. We explored the surroundings on an e-scooter, went bamboo rafting, and shared plenty of laughter. It felt just like spending time with a close friend. Thank you, lovely Karlie, for your kindness and companionship—you made my time in Yangshuo so memorable.To sum it up: a wonderful hotel, fantastic staff, and a highly recommended experience for anyone visiting Yangshuo.

    Nanning is a beautiful city.

    Nanning is a beautiful city. We enjoyed an evening exploring the streets around the hotel even though there were quite a large roadwork project going on. We only spent one full day in the city to fit in at the end of our 15 day visa free viit to China. Qinxiushan scenic area is quite stunning and a beauitiful place requiring a full day to fully appreciate. There is a lot more to see in and around Nanning so we may need to return one day!

    UNESCO site. Beautiful landscapes. wear proper hiking waterproof shoes. Raincoat for rainy days in March. plan to spend at least 2 nights. book rides with the Hotel to facilitate the arrival process...visitors have to pay entrance fee to the Ping On village. there is a ticket office and security gate for this purpose. travel light and enjoy its natural beauty.

    Something important to mention is that the map location on booking.com didn't correspond with the actual location of the hotel I stayed in! so this is something to double check and rectify! Beihai old town was fantastic and shopping for pearls and eating out was wonderful-there are beautiful souvenirs, great food and architecture and it is the best place to buy pearls (bracelets, rings, necklaces, broaches etc...) A trip to the nearby Weizhou island is quite the treat but the actual beaches in Beihai seem to get way too/ridiculously crowded in the Summer and seem to be in a state of development with lots of construction taking place next to them!

    Lao Dongjiang rice noodles are very close, highly recommended, they have local flavors that locals like to eat. This street is a street I visited, Shijiayuan Road, there are many snacks, etc. Opposite the hotel is Elephant Trunk Hill, Two Rivers and Four Lakes, which is very suitable for walking and taking pictures. It is beautiful during the day and even more beautiful at night.

    Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin. It is set in beautiful surroundings, with karst hills, forests and rivers, is full of history and interest and is packed with lively bars and restaurants but has easy access to quieter, rural lanes and villages. Visitors love to dress up in local dress and photograph themselves so there's quite a party atmosphere. I loved it and wished I'd stayed longer than two nights.

    It’s the provincial capital of Guangxi Autonomous Region so there’s a lot economic and social activity going around. Lots of entertainment venues and good infrastructure and transportation services to navigate around the city. Just remember to keep some loose change if you’re taking the bus since the phone payment systems only work for Chinese citizens.

    Beautiful, underrated, I should have stayed one more night. It was very easy to get around and the entire village at Ping'an has English and Chinese signage all on farming/hiking trails. I can't believe how empty the village is and part of me is concerned that not enough tourists are visiting even though I loved the serenity of it. Many stores/hotels were empty or closed, perhaps due to COVID-19.

    guilin is a famous tourist attraction, things to do include a river cruise, visits of the rice terraces, tea plantation, seven star park, or a river walk around sun&moon twin. might be rather crowded in high tourist season. be aware of the e-scooters, which are just everywhere and don't follow the traffic rules. besides this, it's save to walk, also on ones own, even at night. if you don't speak chinese, find a travel guide, who makes the booking and organises the tickets for you.
