This was not on our essential Colombia itinerary but I recommend you add it to yours - we will moving forward. We honestly ended up here because we had an extra day before we had to be back in Medellin from Salento and I'm so happy we did. It's in the most incredible national park and it is truly an experience. The thermal pools are incredible and I do recommend taking a dip in the thermal river here! Just stunning and so relaxing. I will say it was a bit pricey to get there via cab. I think we paid 300,000 COP from Salento (not bad for two hours, but definitely more than we were used to on a backpacker budget). I just say that to prepare you for it or to give you time to try and figure out another method if budget is important. BUT for the rate of the room, access to the pools and also all the food that was included - the rate we paid to stay here was incredible! Also the food was fantastic! The gardens are spectacular and very well maintained with the cabins tucked away amid trees. The attention to detail throughout the entire property is wonderful with super pieces of art and fabulous furniture. The place is brimming with colourful birds singing all day long which was an absolute delight. Our cabin's patio was amazing with the canopy of three stunning Saman trees to provide welcome shade with dapples of sunlight streaming through. The cabin's room was great with a ridiculously comfortable and enormous bed and the shower is bigger than our entire bathroom at home! Unfortunately I was sick for my entire stay and I wasn't able to leave my room. They sent a doctor up to my room. It also happened to be my birthday and they sent a slice of cake up for my birthday. Check in was a breeze and they are very attentive. The hotel is located right on the square, but I don't remember being able to really hear the traffic. The pictures are almost exactly like the room. Very nice friendly city! Like Every city has the good and the bad areas. The nature is nice reception is nice, rooms are extremely smelly to chemicals and mold, very small hardly space to move around no place to leave even small luggage, unhelpful staff, my hole family got sick from the smell they didn’t offer options, we spend the hole day trying to get an alternative finally we had to leave the hotel at midnight with no place to go. I have already sent a very detailed explanation about the horrors of this host and provided TEN screenshots of evidence including her harrassing and threatening messages. You only have to read them to see that I'm not exaggerating, much less lying. It would be unfair and unethical to recommend this place to anyone, knowing that the host and her police boyfriend have no regard for their hosts, much less the laws of Colombia!! The Hot Springs were amazing.
The Hot Springs were amazing. The place is well kept with great services and amenities. I stayed at Matisses Hotel and Spa. I enjoyed both places. I was glad to visit both places because it made my vacation more interesting. There is so much natural beauty in both places, I am so glad that I was able to experience both. It was very easy to get to Santa Rosa de Cabal from Matisses Hotel and Spa. I recommend the scenery, ambiance, waterfalls, friendly locals, walking, relaxing, and food.Guest review byLees
