The bungalows are built in a traditional way and surprise at the same time with a modern and very comfortable interior. The Lodge comes with its own huge garden (like a park) full of wonderful flowers and birds and offers a path for the visitor to enjoy the beauty. Lauraceas Lodge offers birdwatching tours and especially one to see the Quetzal with an experienced guide, who is the owner of the lodge. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty and the staff (partly members of the family) is really friendly.

Fantastic. The bungalow was super cosy. We had imagined it would be much simpler. There are enough blankets for the night when it gets cold. The bathroom was also super neat and clean. The garden is beautiful, with lots of flowers that attract the hummingbirds. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. There are huge portions that are fresh and delicious. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. One of the best accommodations we have stayed in Costa Rica. There are various hiking trails from the accommodation into the cloud forest and to waterfalls.

Beautiful location, plenty of space to sleep, relax, have meals plus great views. Very helpful staff that visited the house while we were away and prepared fireplace for us after we used wood the day before. Perfect location to explore Savegre forest and this area. In the cottage we found a contact to very good, profesional birdwatching guide.

Breakfast was sufficient and tasty; however, they should ask how you like your eggs and not just automatically bring them scrambled---both my husband and I prefer them fried. The coffee was good and you can have refills. Service is efficient but it would be helpful if breakfast would start at 7:30 instead of 8 ( for those who have business meetings or wish to start hiking earlier.)

The hotel is very special. We had our own cosy lodge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As it can be a bit cold at night, we even had hot-water bottles. There is also a heater. In the spacious area of the Trogon Lodge, there is very much to see, for example different species of plants and animals like humming birds, lizards and even Quatzals. The lodge does also offer a shorter and a longer exciting hiking track in the cloud forest. We booked a Quetzal watching tour in the morning and really saw about 5 Quetzals.

The hotel had the most wonderful surroundings, stunning mountains and beautifully cared for gardens. The room was clean and spacious and the communal bar and restaurant areas were really peaceful and comfortable. Special mention goes to the staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Thank you!

A small, but cozy cabin. The heater kept us toasty and the blankets on the bed are super warm. The shower is hot. There is a coffee maker. Ana is very friendly and helpful. The cabins are opposite a cafe and next to a pizza restaurant. The spare single bed was a great place to put our stuff.

The lodge is right next to the forest with several walking paths to explore for different levels of difficulty. Tres de Junio is also centrally located between San Gerardo and Santa Maria de Dota, thus making it relatively quick a visit to both as well as other National Parks and trekkings (Tapanti, Los Quetzales and Cerro de la Muerte). Plan for at least 3 nights stay.

A great place to stay to enjoy some cooler temperatures, nature, birdlife and find those beautiful quetzals! Altitude is high, around 3000m so be prepared for that as you may have mild altitude illness which can impact the stay.

It is really nice, we went to Savegre for dinner since we had a reservation made on one restaurant there, but I am sure that if you plan the trip to fully stay on Copey you would find a lot to see, walk and do there. If you decide to go and visit Savegre take into consideration that it is a 40min drive

This place is a bird-lover's paradise! And it's nice to feel cold sometimes in an otherwise warm, tropical country. Everyone is very nice, and very nature-oriented. The trees are all primary growth and fascinating and beautiful to see. This is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica (so far).
