Yeah hotel very secure clean but needs refurbishment realy heeds staff very good at breakfast at reception cleaner over all my favourite place .I have stay room 212 lovely room but cupboard door furniture need lots attention door as well very young team all very good i will stay again this is 3 time Bed vere comfortable good views to Brava islandas. The staff especially the owner Toni were so helpful in arranging transfers and organising our stay. The room was very nice and the swimming pool was great. The evening we stayed there coincided with an amazing event celebrating Women of Cape Verde with a banquet, disco and excellent live musicians. Toni helped us plan our walking tour to Alcatraz and Faja which was excellent. The hotel's location is good if you are planning hikes in the area (which is cooler than most of the island) such as around Estancia Roque and along the coast. The paths are well marked. Finally Toni made sure we got back to Sao Filipe ok when the normal aluguers werent't running as it was a holiday. I wish them all the lu ck in the world in making the hotel a success.

It was wondeful to stay here. VERY friendly and informative staff - good breakfast providing exactly what You need - comfortable bed - and real fast WiFi. On top of this came a FANTASTIC undisturbed view from the room to a wide canyon and to the Atlantic Ocean where the sound of the wawes gave a true feeling of tranquility. Also the location of the hotel was the BEST in town. On a beautiful square with the old cathedral on one side, the ocean on the other side and the hotel in between. Nothing could have been better for the moderate price. There is some renovation taking place but this gave NO PROBLEMS for my stay...

The staff were excellent, especially the young woman who tried to teach us Kriole. We could see the sea from our room and small balcony and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch here.

The Colonial style was very authentic Rooms with high ceilings and airy Dark wood floors and furniture Attractive soft furnishings and effective fans Balcony with shutters gave view of life below and glimpse of the sea Lovely inner courtyards with climbing plants and area to sit peacefully Small swimming pool area easily accessed from my room with seating for pool snacks and drinks Staff great especially the manager

Absolutely fantastic! Very nice stay in a “funco” house, typical from “Chá das Caldeiras”. The hosts Léa and Joao are really really nice, the breakfast prepared by Isabela is also amazing. A real place to stay if you intend to visit Portela in Chá das Caldeiras.
